i. The UK sustainability standards for biogas consist of greenhouse gas emissions and land criteria. Facilities must demonstrate at least a 60% reduction in GHG emissions compared to fossil fuels and not use biomass from areas with high biodiversity or carbon stock.
ii. Reporting of sustainability is required from April 2015 for biogas and biomethane facilities of all scales. Non-waste biomass shipments must meet criteria and be reported quarterly or annually depending on size.
iii. Biomass is reported by consignment based on feedstock type, origin, and classification. Small facilities can use default or actual GHG values in reporting while larger facilities must use actual values.
