Contentment is an attitude independent of our circumstances. The secret of contentment is not about being self-sufficient, but Christ-sufficient.

  6. 6. Ironic, for GREAT GAIN I must learn to be CONTENT If you seek contentment by digging in the wrong places, it will be an ever-elusive treasure, SOUGHT but never FOUND One wrong place we tend to look for contentment is in our RELATIONSHIPS with others.
  7. 7. The world is not to DEFINE you, nor does it REVOLVE around you. God frequently meets our needs through OTHERS, but we cannot DEPEND on others to meet all our needs. “Whatever the circumstances” strips sway any and all EXCUSES for discontent.
  8. 8. I’ll be happy IF ONLY…the problem is there will always be another IF ONLY Contentment is an attitude INDEPENDENT of our CIRCUMSTANCES
  9. 9. The secret of contentment is not about being SELF-sufficient, but CHRIST-sufficient. Paul’s contentment is independent of his circumstances only because of his DEPENDENCE on Christ. Once we realize it all COMES from God and BELONGS to God the easier to OFFER it to God.
