Objective:

Demonstrate informational literacy skills and perform / present basic research – with emphasis on the use of
computer technology.

Process:

Maximum of 3 points will be awarded to each member of the investigation team upon completion of this
project. One point will be deducted for each incidence of inaccurate / missing information. One person on
the team is the recorder who is responsible for accurately completing this form with assistance from the rest
of the team. One person on the team is the presenter. The presenter is responsible to give a presentation
(with assistance from the team) of the team’s findings to the rest of the class.

The Debate Assignment

Team Responsibilities:
Chairperson - responsible for an opening statement to
begin the debate
Secretary – responsible for taking notes of the debate so
we can post the details of our discussion
Judge - will use a provided rubric to evaluate the opposing
group's preparedness and performance
Debate Members - will be responsible for answering the
questions posed by the opposition, may collaborate with
team members during debate
Rules of the Game:
1. Become an expert on your topic.

2. Your job as a group is to come up with 5 questions that will
challenge your opponent and stimulate an interesting and
lively conversation.
3. Questions must be handed in to your instructor for review
prior to the debate.
4. Groups will be randomly assigned via Canvas.
