A preposition is a word that shows relationship between a noun or a pronoun and some other
word in the sentence.
-A preposition is always followed by a noun or a pronoun. This word is called its object.
EX-The article about insects is interesting.

PREPOSITIONAL PHRASES
A prepositional phrase consists of a preposition, its object (noun or pronoun) and any of the
object’s modifiers (adjectives).
**The object of the preposition is the noun or pronoun that follows the preposition. **
EX- Some peoples have depicted insects in art.
EX-Beetle images decorate the jewelry of many cultures.

EX-Some believed that dream come from a butterfly.
PREPOSITION OR ADVERB? Sometimes the same word can be used as a preposition or as an
adverb. If the word has NO OBJECT, then it’s an adverb.
EX-The ant scurried out the door.
EX-The ant scurried out. (ADV because it has no object)
