  1. 1. First Lesson Introduction to Vizwik for Teachers Learn Create Share

To begin using Vizwik in the classroom start your students off by having them create an App based on one of their interests: ● This promotes engagement in the students ● It shifts attention off the complexity of learning ● It provides immediate visual feedback ● Students achieve a sense of accomplishment ● Reduces the amount of in-class support Introduction to Vizwik
  3. 3. To begin the first lesson you will need: 1. A desktop computer for students in groups of 1 to 4 2. Internet access for each computer 3. Chrome Web Browser Installed 4. Access to www.vizwik.com Setup
  4. 4. You will need to sign up: 1. Navigate to www.vizwik.com 2. Click the green “Sign Up” button 3. Select “Teacher” option 4. Enter a unique username and password 5. Follow the remaining optional steps by clicking the “Next” button (email and birth date are optional) 6. Complete the opening Tutorial (15 steps) 7. Create a Class... Teacher Sign up
  5. 5. To create a class do the following: 1. Open your Profile Panel Create a Class Click
  6. 6. 2. Type the name of your class in the “Create Class” field Create a Class Type
  7. 7. 3. Click the “Create” button Create a Class Click
  8. 8. 4. Copy the newly generated Class Code and share with your students Create a Class Copy
  9. 9. Once created, you will be in the new class. To switch between the classes use the class menu beneath your account summary. The menu items labeled “Vizwik” is the public network. Switching Classes

  11. 11. First Lesson (30 min) In the first lesson students will: 1. Create an Project from a Template 2. Import Images to Media Panel 3. Add images to View 4. Create New View 5. Add Button to navigate between Views 6. Publish App to your Classroom

  13. 13. 2. Import Images to Media Panel To add images drag and drop them from your desktop, or add using the “+” button to access the file dialog Drag and Drop File Add
  14. 14. 3. Add images to View Using the imported image drag and drop from the Media Tab onto the View Editor 2 Click to reload 1 Drag and Drop
  15. 15. 4. Create New View To navigate between Views create a new View and rename it 1 Click 2 Double-Click Rename
  16. 16. 5. Add Button to Navigate Views To add a button drag and drop the button from the Parts Panel to the View, then set it’s script property to the new View you just created 1 Drop 2 Click 3 Select
  17. 17. 6. Publish App to Classroom Students publish their app to the classroom through the Project Panel using the Share settings and button 1 rename 2 select 3 Select 4 change 5 Click
  18. 18. Apps in the Classroom The Apps students publish will appear in the “Newest” filter in the App Panel where you can review them 1 Click
