1. OFFICIAL INVITATION
Dear Mr/Madam
You are invited to attend the GREENFOODS conference “Increasing energy efficiency and
promoting renewable energies in the European Food and Beverage industry” described below
Location: ACHEMA, Frankfurt Fair (Messe), Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Conference Date: June 15th
, 2015 (13:00-17:00h)
Conference language: English
The GREENFOODS project is coming to the end during this year. So, we’d like to present and
discuss the results in the GREENFOODS conference “Increasing energy efficiency and
promoting renewable energies in the European Food and Beverage industry” that will take
place on the 15th
of June 2015, coinciding with the ACHEMA fair in Frankfurt. The impact of the
project’s result will be highlighted by presentations on three implemented measures on energy
efficiency and the integration of renewables done within the project.
We encourage stakeholders (food companies, energy experts, policy makers, general public) to
participate in this conference offering the opportunity to discuss the project results and the
upcoming challenges in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy in the European
food and beverage industry.
The GREENFOODS project, co-funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme of the
European Union, is aiming to lead the European food and beverage industry to high energy
efficiency and reduction of fossil carbon emissions in order to ensure and foster the world
wide competitiveness, improve the security of energy supply and guarantee the sustainable
production in Europe. The project has developed a branch concept based on a set of suitable
activities, tools, audits and services in cooperation with research organisation, experts and
food and beverage industries from Austria, Poland, Spain, Germany, UK and France. By this the
following main tasks have been developed which will be presented during the conference:
GREENFOODS branch concept including a calculation tool for energy balance, heat
integration and process optimization, calculation tool for efficient heat and cold
supply, heat recovery and the integration of renewable energy (biomass, biogas, solar
thermal, photovoltaic)
GREENFOODS WikiWeb as a compendium of energy supply technologies and process
technologies enriched by best practice examples available online free of charge and in
a well-structured manner to companies in the food and beverage industries.
Development of sector-specific funding and financing schemes for energy efficiency
measures and renewable energy in the food and drink industry.
GREENFOODS training courses for energy managers from food and drink companies,
consultants and engineering companies offered in each participating country.
Access to the services of virtual energy competence centres (VECC) in Austria, Poland,
Spain, Germany, UK and France as one-stop-shops for knowledge exchange, trainings,
renting equipment, etc. that will be connected to a European network.
2. Access to a database of best practice examples for energy efficiency and integration
of renewable energy like biogas, biomass, solar thermal process heat and heat pumps.
If you wish to attend, you will need to fill out the Registration form.
