features in ICT
that can be
useful to
support the
learning of
writing skill.
They are:

This is a very interesting
feature of ICT that can
replace the role of diary or
journal.
Teacher can give a task to
his students to write a
learning journal to state
certain information on every
lesson.
Teacher will be able to
monitor his students’
progress from distance and
later, can give feedback on
the comment space below
each essay.

Email has been the most
popular feature for
academic life.
Teacher can give a task
and the students can be
asked to submit them
via email immediately.
This feature can cut cost
and can save time and
energy of teacher-
student to come and
meet in the classroom.

This might be the most popular ICT feature
that most students are familiar with. They
are online on social media for almost 24
hours a day.
In teaching writing, the teacher can direct
the students to discuss over a topic. This can
happen by using the group chat or forum.
Students can exchange ideas one to another.
The benefit of this media is that the
discussion can be more alive and happen
naturally since the social media chat is
considered as the most interactive media in
ICT world.

  • 4. Introduction Chiu (2008)He found in his research, The Discourse of an English Teacher in a Cyber Writing Course: Roles and Autonomy, that it can be strongly suggested that teachers use cyber technology in supporting the language learning process.

Discussion ICT in Education  As a vehicle with the potential to help expand access to education shown by the ability of ICT through the boundaries of time and space  To help prepare the younger generation, both studying in formal and informal educational institutions, to get a job more easily  To enhance the quality of education is unquestionable  To help transform the learning environment towards student-centered learning (learner- centered) especially computers and the Internet.

  • 8. Cont. This is a very interesting feature of ICT that can replace the role of diary or journal. Teacher can give a task to his students to write a learning journal to state certain information on every lesson. Teacher will be able to monitor his students’ progress from distance and later, can give feedback on the comment space below each essay. Blog
  • 9. Cont. Email has been the most popular feature for academic life. Teacher can give a task and the students can be asked to submit them via email immediately. This feature can cut cost and can save time and energy of teacher- student to come and meet in the classroom. Email
  • 10. Cont. Social Media This might be the most popular ICT feature that most students are familiar with. They are online on social media for almost 24 hours a day. In teaching writing, the teacher can direct the students to discuss over a topic. This can happen by using the group chat or forum. Students can exchange ideas one to another. The benefit of this media is that the discussion can be more alive and happen naturally since the social media chat is considered as the most interactive media in ICT world.
