2. Describe your personal learning
preferences (1 paragraph, 100-150
words)
• At the beginning of class when I first took the learning
preferences survey, I received a high score for global and
sequential learning, low scores for verbal, vision, and low
for active as well. I did not fully agree with the results
because some of them were false. I am actually really
good at verbally communicating and when it comes to
visuals, it helps me a lot. At the end of class, I believe my
learning preferences have not changed too drastically
because I still go about doing work the same way. I do not
think knowing about learning preferences make a
differences in my personal learning success, what matters
most to me is just planning things ahead of time.
3. Describe the learning pathway you
chose at the beginning of the class (1
paragraph, 100-200 words)
• In the beginning of the class, I chose to be a Learning
Warrior because I wanted to know a deeper
understanding of technology and social networking.
Being in this pathway helped me learn so much that I
did not know before. I had a better understanding of
how gadgets and websites function, how they made
life simpler, and so much more. It also gave me an
opportunity to use more websites in order to learn
more. I did not change my pathway at all because I
thought that all the pathways were alike in a way and
were all relevant to each other.
4. Describe how the activities you completed
contributed or did not contribute to your learning
pathway (1 paragraph, 100-200 words)
• The podcast activity did not excite me at all
because I have always thought that podcasts
were tedious. I can understand why they are
helpful and very informative, but I cannot bear to
listen to a podcast for even five minutes. I would
say that screen casts are more likely to be lively
due to the images you are able to see on screen.
Because of the podcast activity, I did complete
the tasks for it and it still has not changed my
mind about it. I would refer to other sources than
podcasts to retrieve any sort of information.
5. Using one paragraph each, describe the top
3 mobile/social/multimedia technologies you
explored for learning (3 paragraphs, 100-150 words
each)
• The iPod activity definitely helped in making me
comprehend how to use it in a manageable, than just for
music. I believe that since you pay so much for an iPod, you
should be able to use it correctly. It helped me learn by
allowing me to retrieve apps that were beneficial to my
studies and memorization. It also helped that I was able to
upload certain documents to help me study when I am out
of town or on transportation due to its handheld
convenience. The iPod quest allow allowed me to work best
with others because of how popular the device is, which
allowed me to interact more with other students who had
iPods. The iPod makes learning fun, fast, simple, and
enjoyable.
6. Paragraph 2
• The iPad quest helped me in discovering more
social networks and microblogs. I favored the fact
that it is easy to access and how convenient to
carry almost anywhere. The iPad is impacted
more of my visual learning because of its bright
colors and fun apps. I also thought that the iPad is
very comparable to a regular computer and also
works almost the exact same way. The big screen
also contributed in helping me stay alert and
aware when it came to learning apps or fun
games that had to deal with memorization
7. Paragraph 3
• Microblogs contained reviews or personal opinions on
certain subjects, which gave me an understanding of
people’s advice they have on certain technological products
or opinions on whether or not they like something. For
example, if I were to buy a new laptop, I could easily search
the internet for a microblog that contained reviews or
opinions about a MacBook. I love how easy and accessible
they are and can also apply to my learning of different
technologies by researching how they work, what they look
like, how much it is, etc. Microblogs benefit my global and
sequential preferences in that they give me a big outlook
on how much of a big help people’s opinions can be and
can get you far in life from just asking a question to looking
it up online.
8. Synthesize your experience investigating your use of
different mobile/social/multimediatechnologies for learning (2
paragraphs, 100-150 words each)
• As a learning tool, the microblogs interested me the most because I
use them the most, like Twitter and Tumblr. They interested me the
most because I was able to learn, while being myself because I am
always stuck on those two microblogs. It is almost like I’m learning
by being myself and myself contributes to discovering things I did
not know that I could learn about myself before. Microblogs also
help me understand people more with their opinioned thoughts
because when you know how a person feels, you get a deeper
sense of how they work. They are also extremely easy to use and
can be used almost everywhere, like on a computer, smart phone,
tablet, etc. I relate more to microblogs because learning about
other people’s opinions makes me a better learner by taking other
people’s thoughts into consideration, since I also like working with
other people.
9. Paragraph 2
• The screencasts worked best for my learning preferences
because they enjoyable to view but are also incredibly
informative and allows you to view it at your own pace. If
you are making the screencasts, you are able to let your
imagination run wild to customize it however you like and
make notes to the side, add sounds, pictures, or videos. I
enjoy it a lot because I am more of a verbal and visual
learner, so being able to see and hear things at the same
time, makes me comprehend and retain information a lot
more. Not only is it good for your learning, it is also fun,
which adds pizzazz to learning. The best types of learning is
when you get the good out of things, but also remember
them because of how exciting it was for you.
10. Describe how you will use what you learned in
this class after this semester (2 paragraphs,
100-150 words)
• The learning strategies I will continue to use after
this class are visual, sequential, and verbal
approach to learning because they help in
keeping you attentive and aware of how things
would work. I would definitely use microblogging
in the future to benefit me with keeping in touch
with different types of technology and how they
work. Microblogging would be great for a job and
outside of school because they provide
information for things that you are not familiar or
unsure about. They are useful in jobs due to the
high demand for the latest gadgets.
11. Paragraph 2
• I would use the iPad to further my knowledge of
learning and non-learning by using specific apps to
ensure that they relate to my classes or job. The iPad is
accessible for learning, social networking to keep in
touch and to express yourself, and is good to use for
entertaining yourself as well. Ipads are used in jobs all
the time to take notes, create graphs, interact with
business partners, etc. I would most likely avoid
podcasts because they are the most tedious and time
consuming. I do not think I will be likely to use
podcasts since I have a busy life and do not really have
time for anything.
