CONTENT ANALYSIS 
Terms Business Environment, Environment 
Facts All institutions operate in an Environment. 
All institutions or organizations are influenced by the environment. 
Changes taking place in the environment will have a direct impact on them. 
The economic, social, political, technological and other forces have their impact on 
Business enterprise.
These are forces which operate outside a business enterprise. 
Changes and reforms influence the industrial environment of a country. 
Business environment is a macro frame work within which a business enterprise-a macro unit-operates. 
The influence of external factors constitute business environment. 
Business environment refers to all forces – economic, social, political, technological etc – and 
institutions like suppliers, consumers, competitors, financers, government etc which are 
external to business. 
Business man very little control over these factors. 
The success of business depends on correctly forecasting the environmental factors. 
Concepts Business environment refers to all forces – economic, social, political, technological etc – and 
institutions like suppliers, consumers, competitors, financers, government etc which are 
external to business. 
Curricular Objectives The Students acquire knowledge about the terms, facts, concepts etc of the meaning of 
business environment. 
To develop an understanding about the terms, facts and concepts of business environment. 
Create an interest to know more about business environment
To help them to apply the knowledge in real life situation 
Develop positive attitude towards business environment. 
Develop the ability of interaction and co-operation by participating in group discussion. 
Pre-requisites The students should have an idea about the term business environment.

CLASSROOM INTERACTON PROCEDURE RESPONSE/FEEDBACK 
PHASE I INTRODUCTORY PHASE 
Activity 1 Questionning 
After usual classroom practice teacher asks some questions to 
students. 
1) How inflation affecting the business? Students actively answering the questions. 
Activity 2 Case Study 
From this questions and answers teacher narrate a situation. 
In 2006, many IT companies were broken by recession. 
1) What are the causes for this situation? 
2) What are the factors affecting the business? Students answered properly.
From this case discussion, teacher explain that many external 
factors influencing the business. The economic, social, political, 
technological and other forces have their impact of business enterprise. 
PHASE I I DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE 
Activity 1 Discussion 
Then teacher divides students into certain groups and ask them 
to discuss various external forces affecting the business and find examples. 
After discussion teacher ask them to present their findings in front of the 
class. The teacher consolidate all examples and explained it. Students actively participate in the discussion. 
Examples of External Forces having influences Business 
1. Rapid technological changes 
2. Changes in Government Economic Policies 
3. Political Uncertainty 
4. Social changes 
5. Changes in fashion and tastes of consumers 
6. Labour unrest 
7. Increased competition in the market 
Activity 2 Observation 
Teacher shows a chart which depicts the definition of
Business Environment. From this chart, teacher explain the meaning and 
definition of term “Business Environment” and ask the students to read it. Students observe the chart and read it. 
Business Environment is the aggregate of all conditions, 
events and influences that surround and affect it – Keith Davis 
Activity 3 Note Making 
Then teacher asking the students to read the Page Numbers 7 & 8 
in the text book and prepare a note on the topic “Opportunities and 
Constraints to the Environment provides to Business”. Students preparing notes. 
PHASE I II CONCLUDING PHASE 
Teacher concludes the topic “Business Environment” and ask All students clearly understand the meaning of 
Questions to students. Business Environment and factors influencing 
business. 
REVIEW QUESTIONS 
1) What do you mean by the term “Business Environment”? 
2) What are the factors internally and externally affecting the business? 
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY 
What are the opportunities and constraints relating to Business?

All institutions or organizations are influenced by the environment. Changes taking place in the environment will have a direct impact on them. The economic, social, political, technological and other forces have their impact on Business enterprise.
  • 2. These are forces which operate outside a business enterprise. Changes and reforms influence the industrial environment of a country. Business environment is a macro frame work within which a business enterprise-a macro unit-operates. The influence of external factors constitute business environment. Business environment refers to all forces – economic, social, political, technological etc – and institutions like suppliers, consumers, competitors, financers, government etc which are external to business. Business man very little control over these factors. The success of business depends on correctly forecasting the environmental factors. Curricular Objectives The Students acquire knowledge about the terms, facts, concepts etc of the meaning of business environment. Students actively answering the questions. Activity 2 Case Study From this questions and answers teacher narrate a situation. In 2006, many IT companies were broken by recession. 1) What are the causes for this situation? 2) What are the factors affecting the business? Students answered properly.

The economic, social, political, technological and other forces have their impact of business enterprise. PHASE I I DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE Activity 1 Discussion Then teacher divides students into certain groups and ask them to discuss various external forces affecting the business and find examples. After discussion teacher ask them to present their findings in front of the class. The teacher consolidate all examples and explained it. Students actively participate in the discussion.
