2. ANALYZE THE LEARNER
• General: My classroom consists of fifteen second
graders(8 boys and 7 girls), 9 Caucasian, 3 African-
Americans, and 3 Asian Children. 3 are identified as
ADHD children.
• Learning Competencies: Students should be able to
comprehend the Dr. Seuss story book.
• Learning Styles: Children can be either visual learners
or auditory learners, but each should be able to learn
3. OBJECTIVE
•After the unit the children should be able to
read the book, be able to tell me what the book
is about, and identify the subject of the story,
through the use of interactive games, videos,
books, audio reading, coloring, and
performance by the end of the week with 100%
accuracy.
4. DAY-BY-DAY
• 1. We will begin by listening to the audio version of the story, and have
the children use their imagination to color what they believe the
characters look like.
• 2. We will begin with reading the story on Tuesday, and compare the
actual characters pictures to the pictures the children created.
• 3. On Wednesday we will play interactive games on the Smart Board and
learn a little bit about the author of the story, Dr. Seuss.
• 4. We will rehearse for our performance, and enjoy food or other
activities mentioned in the storybook.
• 5. On Friday we will reenact the book to the children's parents.
5. USE OF TECHNOLOGY
•The smart board, computer, elmo, and set of
speakers will be our primary sources of
technology. Also, a video camera to record the
children's performance.
•We must create decorations for the classroom
performance.
