Future Smart UI UX Insights from Patents Implementing Minority Report

Patents can provide insights regarding the state of the art and technical details of IoT (Internet of Things) innovation. Thus, patents information combined with future technology development trends can provide insight regarding the future implement of a specific technology. Followings illustrate patents that indicate the potential future implementations of smart UI (user interface)/UX (user experience) of smartphones and wearable devices.

Thus, patents information combined with future technology development trends can provide insight regarding the future implement of a specific technology. Followings illustrate patents that indicate the potential future implementations of smart UI (user interface)/UX (user experience) of smartphones and wearable devices. Total Recall 2012 showed a mobile phone that is implemented in person’s palms. A possible implementation could be a skin like thin glove with embedded electronics with mobile phone functionality. However, this type of implementation is too remote to be viable exploiting current state of the art technology in near future.

The wearable mobile phone includes a transparent display and a control module configured to display an execution screen of a currently executed application in a transparent display area corresponding to the palm of one hand of a user, upon recognition of user's gaze at the user's hand. While the application execution screen is displayed in the transparent display area corresponding to the user's palm, the control module recognizes user's motion of touching the specific finger with a finger of the other hand while the application execution screen is displayed in the transparent display area corresponding to the user's palm.

To project the graphical interaction interface onto the operation portion of the palms through the projection lens is to project the graphical interaction interface onto a hand of the user through the projection lens. Following figure illustrates that the electronic device fixed to an arm projects the graphical interaction interface onto a hand on the arm through the projection lens.

US20130346168 (Wearable augmented reality eyeglass communication device including mobile phone and mobile computing via virtual touch screen gesture control and neuron command) illustrates a practical possibility of implementation of the touch screen UI that is implemented in the air exploiting a head mounted wearable augmented reality eyeglass communication device. The user may interact with the data and/or objects projected by the projector such as the virtual touch screen. A camera may capture images or video of user body parts in relation
