Ways of filming ( part 2 )
1. Ways of filming/ techniques (part 2 )
Crane shots ,Cranes are used to achieve vertical translational
motion. Whenever you see the camera moving up or down by more
than a few feet in a film, it was done with a jib or crane. To be able to
produce a crane shot it is very expensive. My personal opinion is that
you should focus your budget and your energy on shooting really
good tracking shots, as they are needed much more frequently than
crane shots and don’t cost as much to execute.
Tracking movement : horizontal movement , Setting up tracking
shots is more complicated than setting up tilt or panning shots, this
can therefore make it harder or longer to film and this can sometimes
put people off. Tracking shots enable what is usually the speaker to
be followed and this give the perspective of another person with
them if it was a convocation or making you part of the action.
Track-in shots , Track in shots are where the camera moves towards
the object and this is generally done by having another object in the
picture so that there is a greater level of perspective. The other object
in the picture is usually know as the secondary object and in most
cases it would be in the foreground. The significance of this
foreground object is that, since it is closer to the camera than the
main subject, it increases in size faster than the main subject as the
camera moves in.
