Screenplay
TITLE: BASTILLE BAD BLOOD
Female is bobbing around in water, with camera bobbing under
and over the water. The sea looks cold and you can hear the
sound of the wind blowing.
MALE SINGER:
OH OH OH OH OH, OH OH OH OH OH
On screen: A washed up piece of cardboard will read
BASTILLE PRESENT...
Then the shot will follow to another piece of cardboard that
states
BAD BLOOD
The water will float and wash over it
You will see a selection of close ups of the girls features.
Her eyes:
WE WERE YOUNG AND
Her mouth and lips, slightly playing with them in a worrying
way
DRINKING IN THE PARK
A wide angled shot of a house, with overgrown leaves and old
fashioned door. The shot will slowly zoom in.
THERE WAS NOWHERE ELSE TO GO
A close up shot of the gate opening with the girls hand
holding onto it.
Then it will cut to a wider shot again with the girl walking
through into the house door.
AND YOU SAID YOU ALWAYS HAD MY BACK
OH BUT HOW WERE WE TO KNOW
The camera is now inside the house, with the door creaking
open.
THAT THESE ARE THE DAYS THAT BIND
YOU, TOGETHER, FOREVER
A wide shot of the wall alongside the door, showing the
light flood in from the door opening.
AND THESE LITTLE THINGS DEFINE YOU
FOREVER,
A close us shot of the females hand on the door closing it.

Cut: To water flowing in sea, and very quick cut to Females
eye pupil well lit.
ALL THIS BAD BLOOD HERE,
The female is in the living area, which
minimal lighting. On the old television
the wording ’missing man’ and ’day 6 of
small 4 second video of him turning his
WON’T YOU LET IT DRY?

looks decayed with
will be a male with
the search’ with a
head looping.

The camera will start to zoom in on the television. Then
have another very sharp cut to the sea, with a splash and a
close up of the girls broken fingernail.
IT’S BEEN COLD FOR YEARS,
A shot of flowers in the garden, again with a decayed look,
with the shot going from focus on one flower to another.
WON’T YOU LET IT LIE?
The girl will be sitting in front of the television, lit up
by the white on the screen, with the television off shot.
The girl will slowly raise her head.
Another cut of the female in the water. Possibly drowning.
with a flicker effect so it cuts to the same shot twice.
A shot of police tape - do not cross, outside on the garden
gate, emphasizing time passing.
IF WE’RE ONLY EVER LOOKING BACK
The girl will stand in three different places in the
kitchen, eating the same bag of crisps but wit jump cuts.
On insane, the shot will again cut to a extreme close up
flickering of the girls eyes.
WE WILL DRIVE OURSELVES INSANE
The girl will walk straight forward, off camera,
The shot will cut to across the living area with the garden
doors wide open and a curtain blowing.
On resentment there will be a close up of a photoframe on
the mantelpiece that has the girl and boy from the TV in the
shot. With the rest of the wall out of focus.
AS THE FRIENDSHIP GOES RESENTMENT
GROWS
The pavement in the garden. The girl will be barefoot.
Walking slowly off shot, with shadow being seen.
WE WILL WALK OUR DIFFERENT WAYS

The girl will fall, tripping on something, and the shot will
cut to a close up of her fallen, where there is a lost
person A5 poster on the floor. She pics it up, and stares at
it.
BUT THOSE ARE THE DAYS THAT BIND US
TOGETHER,
The camera flips so that we can see the poster which says
Missing Man - Gone forever.
FOREVER
The shot cuts again sharply to the girls face, with quivers,
showing her anger and worry. But why?
AND THOSE LITTLE THINGS DEFINE US
FOREVER, FOREVER
Another cut to the sea, with the girls face shown, falling
underwater.
ALL THIS BAD BLOOD HERE, WON’T YOU
LET IT DRY?

The girl will drop to the floor with the camera looking
through the garden doors, with reflection of police sirens
and police tape.

BLOOD ANYMORE
The girl is standing by the side of the sea. A close up of
her feet slightly falling into the water with the waves
crashing.
I DON’T WANNA HEAR YOU TALK ABOUT
IT ANYMORE
A flashback to the man and the photoframes in the living
room being packed away and put down
ALL THIS BAD BLOOD HERE, WON’T YOU
LET IT DRY?
The girl falls into the sea, the same shot will be shown but
from multiple angles
