1. AIESEC SJTU 2014 Summer NatCo Finance Start Leader Application
1, Introduction
Hey AIESEC!
This is Alisa Zhao, VP Finance of AIESEC SJTU. It is my biggest pleasure to apply for
Star Leader Award. During last six months, my focus on finance department was data
collection, financial report cleaning up and cut costs but make SJTU a better LC to have
family atmosphere according to our financial situation. Attracted LC’s attention to
finance function as only some of us know the importance of it before. Been an
AIESECer in SJTU is one of my happiest time in college.
2, Function structure & Policy building & LC Activities’ involvement.
Function structure
In the past two years, as I know that VPF in AIESEC SJTU always work alone. No
members, no MMBs. According to the situation that AIESEC SJTU face to, I opened
2. one finance manager during my term and the management for this function is excellent
as our results show.
There is the JD to the only one manager that I decided and don’t have any reference
before:
1) Manage Invoice/receipts
2) Track LC’s projects’/events’ finances
3) Do finance/legality education to LC members
4) FN KM Collection
In the first MMB election when I just became an EB, there was 3 candidates apply for
finance manager position.
After half terms passed, the second time MMB selection was coming and I decided to
add one more manager position to finance function because I hope that the left half term
when EB selection is coming, one of the manager will stand out and apply for EB in
FN function bravely. My appoint of view for a sustainable development in function is
that manager will apply for EB, not across function.
This time, finance function has totally 6 candidates.

Policy Building
This year, we build a new financial policy for AIESEC SJTU in all aspect for whole LC
as we lost our financial policy before. It is totally new but it is reliable. As soon as
policy build we send it to the whole LC including new members, MMBs and EBs. After
one month we came the financial policy version 2.0. The following is the specific
content of the new financial policy:

5. KM: “SJTU Financial Policy Version 2.0”
LC Activities involvement.
Even if Finance function is a supporting function, it doesn’t mean we should cut down
the involvement of this function. We pay lots of attention to finance function this year.
There are the activities that finance function involved in:
1) Our First LIC – FN Function track
After we finish all the recruitment of new members, we had our LIC in a hotel and there
was one session which was delivered by finance function, mainly talked something
about finance but very basically.
2) Core Function Meeting Attendance
Joined Core function meeting and delivered sessions. Payed more attention to O-GCDP
function, provided FAQ to all members and MMBs in order to give Eps a better answer
and reliable feeling on their way to be international volunteer.
3) Others
ALS application, LC financial status analysis, LCM function arrangement, MMB Camp
LC Calendar explanation, etc.

3, Local Finance Empowerment
The reason why sometimes we will have financial problems is because we don’t
communicate with other people well which cause misunderstanding or something else.
I focused on the LC Financial sense build including members and EBs. We also have
6. EB finance training during our EBM.
I gave one task to manager and let him take responsibility for the whole thing. Finally
this activity earned 791.91RMB compared to last year we lost 897RMB.
BTW, I prepared a GCP sharing on our Finance Class which was delivered by Financial
Board.

4, Questions and Answer
1) How does the condition it improve in the remaining of MC-LC Balance in your
term.
Cut the costs and help core function’s work in order to support them to earn more money
to LC is our strategy to improve this situation in my term. We hold SJTU 15TH
Annual
Forum successfully with little cost. We had our second time MMB Camp with no more
than 50RMB successfully and with good feedback because finance function discussed
with TM function.
2) Has LC maintain a reserve for at least three months operation?
Yes.
3) What is the percentage of your total assets are AR from companies.
21.44%
4) Has LC submitted all the monthly FR in time?
Yes

Yes
6) How many times did LC FR totally pass the auditing criteria?(Jan to Jun)
Pass them all.
7) Has LC achieve the profit stated in Annual budget?
Not all, 75%
Finance Function is really an important function to all organizations. With our
responsibility and carefulness I hope AIESEC SJTU will be better.
