ALISS Finance
Jennie Grimshaw presented the draft accounts for 2006/7 This showed that ALISS continued to
maintain a firm financial basis. Marcus Wooley University of Luton Treasurer of the CILIP
Information Group was elected as Treasurer 2007/8
Review of Activities.
Heather Dawson provided a brief summary of ALISS Events during 2005/6.
Membership.
During 2006-7 we were able to retain membership fees at the same cost. This encouraged more
individual members to join. We also expanded the corporate base. Efforts were made to contact
government libraries via an article in the Network of Government Libraries (formerly Circle of
State Librarians) group as yet outcomes have been limited. As a result it has been decided to
nominate a committee member to deal specifically with marketing/publicity to advertise the group
to a wider audience.
New website
A new ALISS website http://www.alissnet.org.uk ALISS Website has been developed and hosted in
association with Headfast using Headfast AMIGOS software & website design. All content is now
supplied by the ALISS committee. The new site can provide free access to all PowerPoint slides
and papers from past events (see the Past events section) we are also developing current awareness
features. The ALISS recommends section will contain links to useful online papers relating to
information work and resources. The Social Science News section will highlight new websites and
events of value to social scientists.

• More out of London activities. July 5th Beyond Google hands on workshop to take place at
Leeds University.
• One day conference on Electronic copyright, IPR and access issues in Emerging Electronic
Landscape being planned for August 2007.
• Enhancing the website to provide more current awareness news items
