Essay on My Day
My Day I wake up every morning with a shock, my mum knocking at the door and shouting,
"Time for a shower." I'm always tired in the mornings and find getting up for a shower really
horrible, though it does a good job of waking me up and after it I'm ready for another day at school.
Well that is what I think but I usually end up in bed asleep right up until 7.45 am. Luckily I have
usually packed my school stuff the night before.
My house is quite big and there is lots of room to get away from the rest of my family. I have a
computer in my room and I spend quite a lot of time on...show more content...
Another couple of friends arrive at this house too and we all get together and walk to school. This
walking to school together gives me a good opportunity to make after school arrangements. Once
at school (the walk takes about 15 minutes) I go to my tutor base and catch up with my friends who
don't walk to school with me. After a short rest I make my way to my first lesson on a Monday
usually English.
English requires a lot of work and its quite interesting. All year it's work, work, work, which is
hardly surprising seeing that it's GCSE year. I'm going to need to work hard because qualifications
are a necessary part of any career and I definitely want a career not just a job.
After the first two lessons I usually eat my lunch. It may seem strange that I eat my lunch at break
but it takes so much time queuing at lunchtime just so I can sit down and eat some food that I would
rather eat my packed lunch early freeing up time at lunch for other activities. The only downside to
this is that you have lots of people surrounding you begging for food. Most people would probably
just say "No", but I have real problems with saying "No" and more often than not half my food is
devoured by these hungry beasts.
Once break is finished I work until the real lunch time and then I hang around the common room or
go to the library and do

Essay about Suicide
Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it
will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million
youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1
/3, actually succeeded.
Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an
illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and
sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no
surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide
is now responsible for more deaths...show more content...
Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes
producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may
have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good
grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of
wanting to die.
People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that
they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant
unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered
easily, or has a severe lost of energy.
For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day.
Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or
disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill
themselves.
Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they
feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. Many teenagers will try to communicate
their pains through

Essay about Germany
Germany is the fourth largest country in area in
Europe, with a total area of 356,970 square
kilometers (137,827 square miles). The country has
a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal
flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central
area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily
forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the
south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich
culture, but it did not become a unified nation until
1871. Before that time, Germany had been a
confederacy (1815–1867).
The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997
estimate). Germany is overwhelmingly urban, and
most people lead a prosperous, comfortable lifestyle,

Stretching from the Baltic and North seas to the Alps,
Germany measures about 800 kilometers (about 500
miles) from north to south; the country extends about
600 km (about 400 miles) from west to east. In
addition to coastline and mountains, the varied
terrain includes forests, hills, plains, and river valleys.
Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and
canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine,
and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the
Baltic.
Germany has a mostly moderate climate,
characterized by cool winters and warm summers.
River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and
somewhat warmer in both winter and summer,
whereas mountain areas can be much colder.
Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the
south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force
incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in
the form of rain and snow.
Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or
great economic disparity. Crime levels are
substantially lower than those in the United States,
and the possession of guns is controlled. However,
there are substantial numbers of homeless people
and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug
abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary
in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s.
They occur often enough to make law and order a

Essay about Love
Love
Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great
writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful
emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently.
Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be
experienced in many different ways.
People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated
through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many
different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate
family and our...show more content...
A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship
between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into
love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may
move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever.
Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at
the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been
looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two
souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as
well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love.
Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a
wonderful feeling.
To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of
love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out
for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Whether it is between
family, friends, or lovers, love is a precious

The Memories Of My Life Essay
Time Appreciation
Life is meant to be filled with memories. Every time that I close my eyes and I let my mind be
free, my head starts to be full of different images, people place, events; experiences that have left a
mark in my life. Sometimes those memories are classified as happy , but other times happens that
those memories kill us slowly because they are filled with sadness. Despite making us sad, they
have a great value to us. I do not usually like talking about this part of my memories. People would
start thinking that I am weak, because even if I do not want to, my eyes burst into tears when I
remember those memories.
I will share the two most bitter memories in my life with you. I do not want to show that I am weak,
but those memories have helped me grow up and understand the value of life, love and people who
surround me. Unfortunately, I understood it only when I lost those people.
The first memory takes me back in time six or seven years before, I do not know. It was the
twenty–first of September. I was in seventh grade and too young to know the value of life and love
that you gain from people around you. For almost one year, I and my brother had been living with
my aunt because her husband died and her children were not in Albania anymore. In the last
months, she started to feel sick and every day her health was going south. I remember that at the
end of July I went back to my home because she went to the hospital. It had been the longest August
of my life.

Greatest Invention Essays
What is the greatest invention of all time?
Throughout time there have been lots of new inventions which have both hindered and helped
everyday life with humans. There are many different possible world's greatest inventions because
they have all helped out humankind in some way, some more than others.
I think that the greatest invention of all time is Harnessed Electricity. Some may argue that this was
not an invention it was a discovery but although electricity itself was a discovery there was still the
invention of had to use it and what it could be used for. I think that electricity is very important to
human life because it would be nearly impossible to do anything we do today. If we didn't have
electricity a lot of things would...show more content...
I believe that the use of electricity in healthcare is more important than the use of penicillin because
of the x–rays, MRI scans, life support machines, cat scans, ultrasound, surgery lighting, heart rate
monitors, incubators and loads of other much needed specialist equipment. This equipment has
over the years helped to save millions of lives and although penicillin helps to treat the odd few
illnesses it doesn't help to run a well equipped hospital which saves even more lives with the billions
of people who visit a hospital every year.
Without electricity there would be no light and it would constantly be dark from around 4pm ever
day. This would restrict most people from doing things because as soon as it was dark they would
have to go to bed because there would be no lighting. Nobody could go out after dark as there
would be no street lights on the roads and houses would have to be lit by candle light which
wouldn't give of the strength of light that a light bulb does now. Yet again it would be exactly like
living in the dark ages.

Psychologically, years of stress, fear, and despair has been welling up inside of Victor to this
eventual boiling point. Surprisingly, the creature that has been the source of such misery acts more
human than his creator. Not only can the creature speak, but he can also express himself articulately

Grass for cattle to eat was in short supply and as a result, cattle were rare. The few animals that

Essay on Lifelong Learning
Lifelong learning
Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an
individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and
non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically
structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized
school–like programs created in business for technical and professional training. Whereas informal
learning describes a lifelong process whereby individuals acquire attitudes, values, skills and
knowledge from daily experience and the educational influences and resources in his or her
environment, from family and neighbors, from work and play,...show more content...
The computer industry is a growing field that will never stay the same as it was when it started.
We will always need additional learning to be able to keep our jobs or move up on the corporate
ladder. We can learn about these changes by going back to school, going to workshops, or on the
job training if it is available. These opportunities are tools that will help you learn more about your
job. The skills that you learn at one job will help you advance in that position or get you another
position with that company or another company. For example,
If you we are tired of being at that same died end job make that change and go back to school to get
that additional education to pursue your dream that you have. Working a job and having a career
are two different things. After spend some years in the work force I decided to further my
education. I wanted a career that I can advance in and learn more.
The process of designing a lifelong learning plan begins with putting it in writing. This plan,
sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic process intended to provide structure in an
unstructured environment – known as everyday life.
Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal
continuing education programs or self–directed learning such as learning how to garden or play an
instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following

The foundation of the German banking system is well developed. Germany was the first bureau in

Germany and its obligation is to oversee economic growth, develop the banking and financial system

Essay about Prejudice
Missing Formatting
In today's world, there are many social issues, like poverty, vandalism and unemployment.
However, prejudice has become the most dramatic one. Prejudging people for their appearance is a
common practice that humans perform. People are not only ridiculed for their color, but also by
their religion, sex or age. Therefore, I consider that racism, ageism and sexism are the three major
problems in our society and we need to cease them immediately. Much of our world's history were
based upon racism. In the 1600's, white men used Africans as slaves and treated them as they were
not human. "Colored" people were not even allowed to use the same drinking fountains as white
people. Fortunately, in the last three decades, race...show more content...
The most popular watched sport in America, NBA basketball, is played by over 87% of the

is also a worrying problem in our society. Though many people think that this is not a serious
problem, people are being harassed about their age everyday, whether they are "too young" or
"too old". I have dealt with this problem myself, as many other teenagers have. When I walk into
some stores, I am asked to leave my purse at the counter and I am often followed around by
employees. They watch every move I make to make sure that I will not steal anything. I know that
theft is a dilemma that many businesses have to deal with , but when it gets to the point of being
untrusted due to your age, it is completely ridiculous and inappropriate. Men and women have
never been equal in the world and that is what we call sexism. For example, if a man and a woman
who have the same knowledge ask for the same job, the boss will probably pick the man. Even
though they both get the job, the man will maybe have a better salary than the woman. People
always believe that men work better than women but no one can give a satisfying explication to
support that thought. Fortunately, sexism is decreasing constantly but it will never diminish to the
point of complete equality. We can never judge someone by their

The Rise In Conspiracy Theories
Conspiracy theories have a massive influence on our society through literature, film and music. Such
conjectures may be absurd to the commoner, but they serve an important psychological, and
sociological, purpose in their practice. Conspiracies often target the powerful from the position of the
powerless, reaching to explain what otherwise is unexplainable, or unsatisfactory when explained.
These are an important aspect of democratic society, even if some speculations can reach into the
extremes of absurdity. Often, these conspiracy theories express discontent with government powers.
The rise in conspiracy theories against the government, stemming from events such as the Kennedy
assassination, led to a decrease in trust in federal intentions (Issitt and Newton). This increasing
distrust led to a chain reaction of conspiracy theories as the approval rate of the government
dropped from 80% to 25% in the timespan of 40 years (Issitt and Newton). Questioning of the intent
of officials, such as the accusation of...show more content...
Whether the theory was pre conceived to align with prior prejudices, or to further an agenda
thereof, they would meet at an end consisting of active discrimination. Yet, those same critics that
claim generalization on the part of theorists fall into hypocrisy. To claim that these proposals are
for the advancement of bigoted dogmas is in itself a generalization of the whole of conspiracy
theories. While it is true that people, such as Hitler, used preconceived ideas on race to create
conjectures for political gain, the majority of theories are benign in this aspect, and sometimes
beneficial. Therefore, while conspiracy theories posing immediate threat towards a specific group
should be looked into, the bulk of these conjectures should be left as they are, rather than being

Essay on The Meaning of Life
The Meaning of Life
My few years on this planet have been a bit confusing. I have learned of many aspects of life from
which one can draw meaning, if indeed such meaning can be drawn. I have also learned that there
can be no singular meaning of life to stand for us all, or even any one of us. What I have learned
above all is that trying to put words to the meaning of life is a task of absolute absurdity. This is not
to be confused with the idea that life has no meaning, for life certainly has meaning. However, there
is no single meaning of life to be defined – life is different for us all. Therefore, rather than define
life for an entire planet, I shall try to explain what life means as I perceive it, and why it means so.

Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or
great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life
meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or
her role."
At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its
catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may have helped to mold me into the person I have
become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in
any life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62,
'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that evening, the laughter brought since the incident
is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide
range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in
humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what is important." Whatever the case may be,
laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored.
Despite such emotional ties to life, I have also learned that life is not only about emotions. Those
emotions are generated from the chain reactions created endlessly in

Essay about the human brain
In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't
the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how
complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has
main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia
holds the lentiform and the caudate.
The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain
on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the

The World Health Organisation Essays
The World Health Organisation
Founded in 1948, the World Health Organization leads the world alliance for health for all. A
specialized agency of the United Nations with 191 Member Sates, WHO promotes technical
cooperation for health among nations, carries out programmes to control and eradicate disease, and
strives to improve the quality of human life.
WHO has four main functions:
* to give worldwide guidance in the field of health
* to set global standards for health
* to cooperate with governments in strengthening national health programmes
* to develop and transfer appropriate health technology, information and standards
The WHO definition of health:...show more content...
Some projects target vulnerable populations such as the elderly and women. Others focus on
encouraging healthy lifestyles, sexual health and tobacco–free societies.
The impact of the environment on health is a high priority for WHO. One example is access to safe
drinking water. WHO puts the highest priority on the development of community water supplies and
sanitation facilities with the AFRICA 2000 initiative. WHO is deeply concerned with prevention and
control of ionising radiation so dramatically highlighted by the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Other
issues such as the health effects of electromagnetic fields and the increasing depletion of the ozone
layer, are of major concern.
Scientific and Ethical Action
Improved health is not achieved just with financial resources and high technology. It requires a
social conscience and a commitment to share the advances of health science throughout society.
Every field of health raises ethical questions concerning sex, birth, confidentiality and personal
safety. WHO helps safeguard ethical standards by insisting, for example, that consensus must be
reached on what is acceptable in cloning, that there is informed consent when carrying out
experiments with humans, or estimating how much risk should be borne by

Descriptive Essay About Spring
Spring is such a wonderful and joyful season. The air begins to warm, and the temperature rises
slowly. Not only that, but the days seem to be getting longer as well. As the snow begins to melt in
northern America, the lovely flowers begin to bud and the flies begin to come out. The tree buds
starts greening and preparing itself to grow. The air smells different as opposed to winter, it smells
fresh and alive. Spring wraps up winter, and leads on to the hot and humid season called summer.
Spring is the season that prepares itself for the next season, as forestry is starting to grow and
thrive. The animal kingdom also uses spring to mate. The bears that were hibernating no longer have
to hibernate. The smell of freshly cut grass also goes through the warm spring air.
The grouchy people of winter also start to become happy again. Most people dislike winter as it
cold and the driving condition are not great. However in spring, everything is having life, or
coming back to life; as well as their spirits. Spring is finally the time where people can finally eat
outside, open up the window to let fresh air in. Nothing is better than seeing the neon green trees
and grass shining through the low amounts of snow that might still be left behind by Mother Nature.
The farming trade also begins in spring; the farmers begin to plant their vegetables so they can
harvest them when the time is right. Spring also has a very nice holiday, Easter. Families gather at
each other's houses and

  • 1. Essay on My Day My Day I wake up every morning with a shock, my mum knocking at the door and shouting, "Time for a shower." I'm always tired in the mornings and find getting up for a shower really horrible, though it does a good job of waking me up and after it I'm ready for another day at school. Well that is what I think but I usually end up in bed asleep right up until 7.45 am. Luckily I have usually packed my school stuff the night before. My house is quite big and there is lots of room to get away from the rest of my family. I have a computer in my room and I spend quite a lot of time on...show more content... Another couple of friends arrive at this house too and we all get together and walk to school. This walking to school together gives me a good opportunity to make after school arrangements. Once at school (the walk takes about 15 minutes) I go to my tutor base and catch up with my friends who don't walk to school with me. After a short rest I make my way to my first lesson on a Monday usually English. English requires a lot of work and its quite interesting. All year it's work, work, work, which is hardly surprising seeing that it's GCSE year. I'm going to need to work hard because qualifications are a necessary part of any career and I definitely want a career not just a job. After the first two lessons I usually eat my lunch. It may seem strange that I eat my lunch at break but it takes so much time queuing at lunchtime just so I can sit down and eat some food that I would rather eat my packed lunch early freeing up time at lunch for other activities. The only downside to this is that you have lots of people surrounding you begging for food. Most people would probably just say "No", but I have real problems with saying "No" and more often than not half my food is devoured by these hungry beasts. Once break is finished I work until the real lunch time and then I hang around the common room or go to the library and do Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Essay about Suicide Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1 /3, actually succeeded. Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide is now responsible for more deaths...show more content... Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of wanting to die. People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered easily, or has a severe lost of energy. For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day. Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill themselves. Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. Many teenagers will try to communicate their pains through Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The country has a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich culture, but it did not become a unified nation until 1871. Before that time, Germany had been a confederacy (1815–1867). The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997 estimate). Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine, and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the Baltic. Germany has a mostly moderate climate, characterized by cool winters and warm summers. River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and somewhat warmer in both winter and summer, whereas mountain areas can be much colder. Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in the form of rain and snow. Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or great economic disparity. Crime levels are substantially lower than those in the United States, and the possession of guns is controlled. However, there are substantial numbers of homeless people and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s. They occur often enough to make law and order a recurrent

  • 7. Essay about Love Love Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be experienced in many different ways. People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate family and our...show more content... A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever. Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love. Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a wonderful feeling. To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Whether it is between family, friends, or lovers, love is a precious Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. The Memories Of My Life Essay Time Appreciation Life is meant to be filled with memories. Every time that I close my eyes and I let my mind be free, my head starts to be full of different images, people place, events; experiences that have left a mark in my life. Sometimes those memories are classified as happy , but other times happens that those memories kill us slowly because they are filled with sadness. Despite making us sad, they have a great value to us. I do not usually like talking about this part of my memories. People would start thinking that I am weak, because even if I do not want to, my eyes burst into tears when I remember those memories. I will share the two most bitter memories in my life with you. I do not want to show that I am weak, but those memories have helped me grow up and understand the value of life, love and people who surround me. Unfortunately, I understood it only when I lost those people. The first memory takes me back in time six or seven years before, I do not know. It was the twenty–first of September. I was in seventh grade and too young to know the value of life and love that you gain from people around you. For almost one year, I and my brother had been living with my aunt because her husband died and her children were not in Albania anymore. In the last months, she started to feel sick and every day her health was going south. I remember that at the end of July I went back to my home because she went to the hospital. It had been the longest August of my life. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net

There are many different possible world's greatest inventions because they have all helped out humankind in some way, some more than others. I think that the greatest invention of all time is Harnessed Electricity. Some may argue that this was not an invention it was a discovery but although electricity itself was a discovery there was still the invention of had to use it and what it could be used for. I think that electricity is very important to human life because it would be nearly impossible to do anything we do today. If we didn't have electricity a lot of things would...show more content... I believe that the use of electricity in healthcare is more important than the use of penicillin because of the x–rays, MRI scans, life support machines, cat scans, ultrasound, surgery lighting, heart rate monitors, incubators and loads of other much needed specialist equipment. This equipment has over the years helped to save millions of lives and although penicillin helps to treat the odd few illnesses it doesn't help to run a well equipped hospital which saves even more lives with the billions of people who visit a hospital every year. Without electricity there would be no light and it would constantly be dark from around 4pm ever day. This would restrict most people from doing things because as soon as it was dark they would have to go to bed because there would be no lighting. Nobody could go out after dark as there would be no street lights on the roads and houses would have to be lit by candle light which wouldn't give of the strength of light that a light bulb does now. Yet again it would be exactly like living in the dark ages. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Instead, Victor meets his former creation that he has not seen in years. Unlike last time, Victor is not afraid. He is instead filled with a murderous rage and becomes bent on revenge. His reaction is justified in light of the deaths of William Frankenstein and Justine Moritz, as well as the pain inflicted on his family. Psychologically, years of stress, fear, and despair has been welling up inside of Victor to this eventual boiling point. Surprisingly, the creature that has been the source of such misery acts more human than his creator. Not only can the creature speak, but he can also express himself articulately as well. Until the 18th Century, the main crop in France was wheat. This was because people mainly ate bread, and very little meat, if any, was eaten. Grass for cattle to eat was in short supply and as a result, cattle were rare. The few animals that peasants did own were used to pull farm equipment and to fertilize the soil. The animals were not killed for meat. Sheep were popular because they didn't eat much and because they produced wool. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized school–like programs created in business for technical and professional training. This plan, sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic process intended to provide structure in an unstructured environment – known as everyday life. Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal continuing education programs or self–directed learning such as learning how to garden or play an instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following four Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The central bank is who funds the government, and sets in motion the investment in the public sector. • 14. Essay about Prejudice Missing Formatting In today's world, there are many social issues, like poverty, vandalism and unemployment. However, prejudice has become the most dramatic one. Prejudging people for their appearance is a common practice that humans perform. People are not only ridiculed for their color, but also by their religion, sex or age. Therefore, I consider that racism, ageism and sexism are the three major problems in our society and we need to cease them immediately. Much of our world's history were based upon racism. In the 1600's, white men used Africans as slaves and treated them as they were not human. "Colored" people were not even allowed to use the same drinking fountains as white people. Fortunately, in the last three decades, race...show more content... The most popular watched sport in America, NBA basketball, is played by over 87% of the African decent. Nevertheless, racism is still a issue that will never completely go away. Ageism is also a worrying problem in our society. Though many people think that this is not a serious problem, people are being harassed about their age everyday, whether they are "too young" or "too old". I have dealt with this problem myself, as many other teenagers have. When I walk into some stores, I am asked to leave my purse at the counter and I am often followed around by employees. They watch every move I make to make sure that I will not steal anything. I know that theft is a dilemma that many businesses have to deal with , but when it gets to the point of being untrusted due to your age, it is completely ridiculous and inappropriate. Men and women have never been equal in the world and that is what we call sexism. For example, if a man and a woman who have the same knowledge ask for the same job, the boss will probably pick the man. Even though they both get the job, the man will maybe have a better salary than the woman. People always believe that men work better than women but no one can give a satisfying explication to support that thought. Fortunately, sexism is decreasing constantly but it will never diminish to the point of complete equality. We can never judge someone by their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. The Rise In Conspiracy Theories Conspiracy theories have a massive influence on our society through literature, film and music. Such conjectures may be absurd to the commoner, but they serve an important psychological, and sociological, purpose in their practice. Conspiracies often target the powerful from the position of the powerless, reaching to explain what otherwise is unexplainable, or unsatisfactory when explained. These are an important aspect of democratic society, even if some speculations can reach into the extremes of absurdity. Often, these conspiracy theories express discontent with government powers. The rise in conspiracy theories against the government, stemming from events such as the Kennedy assassination, led to a decrease in trust in federal intentions (Issitt and Newton). This increasing distrust led to a chain reaction of conspiracy theories as the approval rate of the government dropped from 80% to 25% in the timespan of 40 years (Issitt and Newton). Questioning of the intent of officials, such as the accusation of...show more content... Whether the theory was pre conceived to align with prior prejudices, or to further an agenda thereof, they would meet at an end consisting of active discrimination. Yet, those same critics that claim generalization on the part of theorists fall into hypocrisy. To claim that these proposals are for the advancement of bigoted dogmas is in itself a generalization of the whole of conspiracy theories. While it is true that people, such as Hitler, used preconceived ideas on race to create conjectures for political gain, the majority of theories are benign in this aspect, and sometimes beneficial. Therefore, while conspiracy theories posing immediate threat towards a specific group should be looked into, the bulk of these conjectures should be left as they are, rather than being Get more content on HelpWriting.net

This short phrase reminds me to stay brave and focus on the good in my life and all around me. In my life, my greatest love is my family and friends. These 2 things keep me happy in life and they are all I need to get through anything in my life and help me follow my motto. These 2 things are also the things I treasure most in my life. In my friends, I value their ability to make me laugh, no matter the circumstances. There is not a day in my life where my friends don't make me laugh. One thing people always compliment is my hair, so I think that it's my most marked characteristic. I am always doubting myself and if I could, it would be the thing I would change. As for my family, I would change how loud we are. We are always talking really loudly and it's something I don't like most of the time. The characteristic I like most in a woman is her humor; I always like when people can make me laugh. As for a man, I like when they are goodhearted. One trait I deplore in myself is my laziness. I always want to get out and do things, but I use my laziness as an excuse, and that's something I hate. In others, the trait I most deplore is unfriendliness. Phrases that I overuse are "you know what?", "OMG", "like", "why not?". Some people in my life impact it more then they know. In my life, my biggest heroes are my parents. They are someone that I can always look up to for advice, laughter, and happiness. A person in my life I admire is my brother. He is always there for me and isn't afraid to work for what he wants, stand up for what he believes in, and share his thoughts and opinions, all the time. As the saying goes "there is someone for anyone at any time in this life" and I was about to find out that this saying was so true. I have had a wall built around me and my defense was as a stronghold to protect myself from all the relationships that have come and gone over the years. I thought that I was meant to be alone in this old life and happiness was forever gone from me. I was not worried but just curious as to who it may be. When I drew nearer I could tell it was a woman. I thought to myself why is she out here all alone and walking. This was horse country and there was nothing for miles around that she could walk too. When we finally came face to face I could see that she was crying and that tears were coming down and such a sad look on her face. I dismounted and asked if "I may be of any help? She began to cry all the much harder and tried to talk but her emotions had the best of her. I took a chance and put my arms around her and let her cry until there seemed to be no more tears in which she would be able to shed. When she did finally look at me her eyes were so sad and I took my hand and softly brushed away the tears flowing down her cheeks. I asked if there was anything I could do for her, and she said "no, I must handle this my way". "How are you going to handle anything out here all alone and crying the way you are"? • 18. Essay on The Meaning of Life The Meaning of Life My few years on this planet have been a bit confusing. I have learned of many aspects of life from which one can draw meaning, if indeed such meaning can be drawn. I have also learned that there can be no singular meaning of life to stand for us all, or even any one of us. What I have learned above all is that trying to put words to the meaning of life is a task of absolute absurdity. This is not to be confused with the idea that life has no meaning, for life certainly has meaning. However, there is no single meaning of life to be defined – life is different for us all. Therefore, rather than define life for an entire planet, I shall try to explain what life means as I perceive it, and why it means so. ...show more content... Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or her role." At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may have helped to mold me into the person I have become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in any life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62, 'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that evening, the laughter brought since the incident is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what is important." Whatever the case may be, laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored. Despite such emotional ties to life, I have also learned that life is not only about emotions. Those emotions are generated from the chain reactions created endlessly in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Essay about the human brain In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia holds the lentiform and the caudate. The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the right hemisphere. The parietal lobe discriminates sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain. If before you read this paper you thought the brain was a "one man machine" I'm sure your opinion has changed after reading his paper. WHO is deeply concerned with prevention and control of ionising radiation so dramatically highlighted by the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Other issues such as the health effects of electromagnetic fields and the increasing depletion of the ozone layer, are of major concern. Scientific and Ethical Action Improved health is not achieved just with financial resources and high technology. It requires a social conscience and a commitment to share the advances of health science throughout society. Every field of health raises ethical questions concerning sex, birth, confidentiality and personal safety. WHO helps safeguard ethical standards by insisting, for example, that consensus must be reached on what is acceptable in cloning, that there is informed consent when carrying out experiments with humans, or estimating how much risk should be borne by

  • 22. Descriptive Essay About Spring Spring is such a wonderful and joyful season. The air begins to warm, and the temperature rises slowly. Not only that, but the days seem to be getting longer as well. As the snow begins to melt in northern America, the lovely flowers begin to bud and the flies begin to come out. The tree buds starts greening and preparing itself to grow. The air smells different as opposed to winter, it smells fresh and alive. Spring wraps up winter, and leads on to the hot and humid season called summer. Spring is the season that prepares itself for the next season, as forestry is starting to grow and thrive. The animal kingdom also uses spring to mate. The bears that were hibernating no longer have to hibernate. The smell of freshly cut grass also goes through the warm spring air. The grouchy people of winter also start to become happy again. Most people dislike winter as it cold and the driving condition are not great. However in spring, everything is having life, or coming back to life; as well as their spirits. Spring is finally the time where people can finally eat outside, open up the window to let fresh air in. Nothing is better than seeing the neon green trees and grass shining through the low amounts of snow that might still be left behind by Mother Nature. The farming trade also begins in spring; the farmers begin to plant their vegetables so they can harvest them when the time is right. Spring also has a very nice holiday, Easter. Families gather at each other's houses and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
