Beowulf Review Alysha Fojtik
The Wrath of Grendel Characters Involved: 	Grendel- dragon who messes with the land 	Hrothgar- the lord of Herot What is significant about this section?  		That the people were scared of Grendel, but they 	wanted to seek peace and for someone to slay the 	dragon. The Anglo-Saxon always tried to seek hope and not really try to see for the negative.
Section Summary(The Wrath of Grendel) Grendel would kill anyone that seem to harm him. The town knew he had bloody battle and killing as much as he could. Hrothgar already lost someone and just knew it wasn’t the end, just yet.
The Coming of Beowulf Healfdane son ( Hrothgar)- lord of Herot; needed help Beowulf- Higlac follower, strongest of the Geats Higlac- king of the Geats , Beowulf feudal lord and uncle What is significant about this section? 	Beowulf comes to town and learns about the dragon, and is ready to fight. ,[object Object],[object Object]
The Battle with Grendel Beowulf – going to defeat the dragon. Grendel – trying to kill Beowulf What is significant about this section? 	Beowulf wants to defeat the dragon. He wants a victory. The Anglo – Saxon had to put their faith and lives in someone else's hand.
Section Summary(The Battle with Grendel) Beowulf gets ready to fight with Grendel. With the battle coming up, Beowulf is ready to come back with a victory. Beowulf defeating the dragon, he celebrates victory. Not knowing , still lies two more monster.
The Monster Lair Grendel Mother- still lurking around the waters.  Beowulf – ready to battle again. 	What is significant about this section? Even though Beowulf has already defeated one dragon , he is still prepared for another victory. The Anglo- Saxon always had stories to tell, and they always had a lesson behind them.
Section Summary(The Monster Lair) The king tells Beowulf if another victory he will get ancient treasure. The down fall, the treasure lies under water. With that in mind, Beowulf is still ready to FIGHT!
The Battle with Grendel’s Mother Beowulf- still helping out, wants another victory Grendel Mother – eager to beat Beowulf What is significant about this section? The people trusted Beowulf. The Anglo- Saxon kept faith that things were going to get better one day or another.
Section Summary (The Battle with Grendel’s Mother Battle begins, rough start but Beowulf wants to come out on top. Before this battle , Beowulf was speaking his last words if Grendel’s mom defeats him.  Beowulf fighting his hardest.
The Spoils Wexstan son- sees Beowulf struggling , and helps him fight the dragon. Beowulf – in pain, slowly dieing Wiglaf- tries helping Beowulf   What is significant about this section? That even though Beowulf is helpless, he has supporters helping him fight the battle. The Anglo- Saxon would help one another if in need.
Section Summary(The Spoils) The king (Beowulf) is dieing. Wexstan son trying to get the gold After retrieving the gold, they rush it to Beowulf  to let him see but its too late.
The Farewell Geats- doing what Beowulf wanted them to do . Wiglaf- captured the gold. What is significant about this section? With Beowulf dieing
