 Careful and skilful handling.
 It is necessary to get involve with the cultural issues

translation is “not just a transfer of information
between languages, but a transfer from one culture
to another” (Hervey et al., 1995: 20).
*

Ada Franzoni states that legal translation is not
only between two languages but also between
two legal systems since legal translators have to
know not only about the linguistic part of both
languages, but also about the legal systems of
 both of them.
*

That’s why in legal translation there is no
formal equivalence but functional
equivalence so that the translator has to be
aware of that and know the recipient (the
readership).
*
Sociedad Anónima (Argentina)
Corporation (United States)
Public Limited Company (England)

Definition: a large company or group of companies
authorized to act as a single entity and recognized as
 such in law.
*

A public translator is specialized in the legal
part. That is, he/she can do the translation of
a contract, a will, a marriage certificate, and
then he/she signs and seals it with his seal and
professional signature, which is valid and has
public recognition.
*
 IT’S QUITE IMPORTANT TO HAVE LINGUISTICS
EDUCATION NOT ONLY IN THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE
BUT ALSO IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE.

 CHOOSE A TEXT, TRANSLATE IT INTO YOUR LANGUAGE
AND CONSIDER THE CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS FOR
                    TRANSLATION

 HAVE A TEAM TO DO TRANSLATION
*
It is very important to keep in mind what are our
skills before doing a translation and ask
ourselves: Can I do it? Am I competent in this
field? If not, so please don’t accept to do that
translation because the objective is EXCELENCE
in our work or you can get in contact with
experts on that particular field.

   jurídica” (1996)
