Marketing has become one of the most
powerful asset in social media
marketing owing to the effectiveness in
attracting and engaging the audience.
• Many social media marketers are trying to
explore the strong potential of this
comparatively new marketing method to
advertise and promote their brands on the
social media. However, most of the marketers
are still relying on other methods to promote
their brands. Using social media mentions as
proxy of the popularity, we have tried to
analyze the true penetration of Content
Marketing. The graph below shows the extent
to which content marketing is being talked
about.
• The high number of mentions for „content
marketing‟ online itself shows how much
marketers are coveting for this relatively new
marketing methodology. Be it any platform,
facebook, twitter, linkedin, blog, content plays
an essential role. The piece of content can be
as small and as big as possible, Relevance
and engagement however is the key to
success.
• Statistically, Twitter has registered maximum
mentions for content marketing but its effect
is felt everywhere on the social media.
Content marketing has acted as a catalyst to
boost up the growth of many business
manifold. Doing content marketing and doing
it right are two different things. While
marketing your product, it is important that
you keep a note of certain essential factors
that are directly related to a good marketing
overview of your brand.
• Ann Handley, the chief content officer of
MarketingProfs told SocialAppsHQ key facts
to be kept in mind before we go ahead with
content marketing. She said, “Have honest
empathy for your customer. Be useful to them
-- how can you help them? Shoulder their
burdens? Ease their pain? Let your content
be inspired by what‟s real: What data do you
have? What do you know about your market?
Approach content as a commitment, not a
campaign. And from there, tell your true story
well.”
1. Know your Audience and be Relevant
• The content that you are using to promote your brand
should be relevant to the product. It is important that the
content is relevant and engaging and is targeted at
consumers needs, not to get links and backlinks. It is
recommended to first analyze and understand your
target audience and then produce content accordingly. It
is important that your write-ups have some kind of
appeal that will lure a user to get attracted towards your
blog/ content. It is a well known fact, „without audience,
you got nothing‟ and this keeps well in account with
content marketing.
2. Assess topics that can be covered
• Relevance is one thing and reach is another. Just
because your article is relevant doesn‟t mean that it will
be adopted. If the article is relevant to only a very small
segment of people, chances are that you will get a critics
award, not the popular choice award. When marketing,
one cannot deny the importance of links and backlinks,
which can only be achieved if your article has a wider
audience. Focus on the KPIs but not at the stake of
quality and relevance. An article that is relevant and can
generate backlinks is the path to success. Hence, focus
on selecting the right topic. If I write on social media,
there are hundreds of topics to write on, but I need to
select the one that will help me achieve my targets.
3. Create content
• After all the initial analysis and assessments, it is now
time to actually create content. Although almost
everything can be outsourced today, this does not
guarantee the quality of the content. In order to
effectively market your brand, Content quality is
extremely crucial. Key points of the article should not be
sidelined and be properly mentioned. A full power pact
article has better chances of gaining acceptance.
4. Shareability
• After your article is created and the content has been
posted on your website/blog, it is now time to market the
content. Share it on social networking sites. To achieve
the true purpose behind creating the content, links and
backlinks, you need to ensure a good reach and social
media runs on the premise of sharing. If I write an article
on Social Ads, I can very well share the article on my
blog, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Linkedin etc as the
article has relevant to nearly all the platforms
5. Promotion
• Once you have shared the article on social media, the
job is only half done. Now you should focus on
promoting the article to the target customers by social
media campaigns like email marketing campaigns. Tying
it all back to a smart email marketing campaign with
drips and triggers to make it all seamless will really put
you on the sustainable path to success. Once you have
promoted your content well, you can look out for other
prospective customers.
If you keep this simple things in your mind, you will
surely have a better online presence and your brand is
sure to grow in the path of success.

If the article is relevant to only a very small segment of people, chances are that you will get a critics award, not the popular choice award. When marketing, one cannot deny the importance of links and backlinks, which can only be achieved if your article has a wider audience. Focus on the KPIs but not at the stake of quality and relevance. An article that is relevant and can generate backlinks is the path to success. Hence, focus on selecting the right topic. If I write on social media, there are hundreds of topics to write on, but I need to select the one that will help me achieve my targets.

Although almost everything can be outsourced today, this does not guarantee the quality of the content. In order to effectively market your brand, Content quality is extremely crucial. Key points of the article should not be sidelined and be properly mentioned. A full power pact article has better chances of gaining acceptance.

If I write an article on Social Ads, I can very well share the article on my blog, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Linkedin etc as the article has relevant to nearly all the platforms

Now you should focus on promoting the article to the target customers by social media campaigns like email marketing campaigns. Tying it all back to a smart email marketing campaign with drips and triggers to make it all seamless will really put you on the sustainable path to success. Once you have promoted your content well, you can look out for other prospective customers. If you keep this simple things in your mind, you will surely have a better online presence and your brand is sure to grow in the path of success.
