PT Installer’s superintendent, who shall have a
current Level 2 Unbonded Post-Tensioning
Ironworker certification, or approved equal.

Certifying a crew of 10 ironworkers (Level 2 UPT
Ironworker) costs $5,500.

• 2 Day Workshop
– Intro to Unbonded PT (UPT) for Superstructures
– Offered in English and Spanish
• Certification Requirements:
– Workshop Attendance
– Exam Score: 70% or better
– Work Experience: None
12. Level 1 & 2 UPT
Inspector
• Registration Prerequisites: None
• 3 Day Workshop
– 2 days of Level 1 UPT Field
– 1 day of Inspector
• Certification Requirements:
– Workshop Attendance
– Exam Score: 80% or better
– Work Experience: 500 Hours (inspect/install)
13. Level 1 & 2 UPT

– Current Level 1 UPT Field certification
– And 500 hours in last 5 years (50 hours stressing)

– 4000 hours work experience
– Of which 200 hours of stressing
OR
– 2000 hours work experience in last 5 years
– Of which 100 hours of stressing

– Intro to Unbonded PT (UPT) for Slab-on-Ground
• Certification Requirements
– Workshop Attendance
– Exam Score: 70% or better
– Work Experience: 500 Hours (inspect/install)
16. Online Renewal Exams

• Answer 60 questions.
• Level 1 renewed if 70% answered correctly.
• Level 2 renewed if 80% answered correctly.
• If successful, then Certification extended by 4
years.
