  1. Prescriptions 1. Prescribe for a 30-year-old female patient with acute onset of insomnia, following excessive use of mobile phone. On enquiry, she mentions about the problem with sleep onset, but not the duration ℞ Tab. Zolpidem 5 mg ------------------------ 10 0-0-1 Send such 10 tablets Sig: 1 tablet to be taken at bed time for 7 days Review after 1 week 2. Prescribe drug therapy for a 55 years male patient suffering from Myasthenia gravis ℞ Tab. Pyridostigmine bromide 30 mg --------------45 1-1-1 Dispense 45 tablets of Pyridostigmine Sig: Take 1 tab. of pyridostigmine 3 times a day for 15 days After seeing the response another tablet of pyridostigmine 30 mg can be added Tab. Prednisone 20 mg x 3 days 1-0-0 The dose is increased stepwise usually 5 mg/d at 2-3 days, until a dose of 60 mg is reached Sig: Take the tablets of prednisone once a day as directed PO for 15 days Review/ revisit after 15 days Then, Tab. Prednisone 40 mg-------------- 2 month 1-0-1/2 Send 90 such tablets Sign: Take 1 tablet in the morning & ½ tablet PO in the night Review after 2 months
