This is a short slideshow showing how far a person can go if they have the determination and willpower to do so. My husband almost died, but he fought to come back home to our daughter and to me. I am trying to promote organ donation and let people know that as long as you are willing to fight, there will always be hope.

  3. 3. October 12, 2012 • On October 12, 2012 my husband went in for open-heart surgery at 6:45 AM. His heart never came back and he was transported to a Trauma 1 center. • He did not come out of surgery until 4 AM the next day and was left open-chest for 2 ½ weeks.
  4. 4. October 18, 2012 • He had the Total Artificial Heart implanted. • His heart had an autopsy done on it and it was discovered he suffered a massive, catastrophic heart attack. • He was 31 years old.
  5. 5. October 22, 2012 Chest is closed. Recovery begins.
