  3. 3. 360 VIDEO • This type of video is captured using multiple cameras to create a fully spherical film. • This means you can turn your head within a VR experience and see all around you • And with new platforms like YouTube 360, this type of content isn’t just used in VR. 360 degree video viewers can use their mouse to scroll around the video for a different perspective.

VIRTUAL REALITY • A three-dimensional, computer generated environment which can be explored and interacted with by a person. • That person becomes part of this virtual world or is immersed within this environment • Able to manipulate objects or perform a series of actions. • 360 Sound is expected but is currently not always inclusive
  5. 5. AUGMENTED REALITY • Hardest to accomplish • Fully locational overlay on Reality • Google Translate • IKEA • Promise of the Google Glass next generation • Hololens & Magic Leap

  7. 7. WHY IN LIBRARIES? • Virtual Reality is going to happen, we need to be there • Maybe not right now but soon • Start small with Google Cardboard or Merge and grow • Augmented Reality is happening now • More relevant for staff, productivity • Google Translate is a great tool to start
