• Price vs. volume quadrants
• We have first classified products for which price change has happened in more than one
one bills.
• After which we have compared the quantity sold for respective item for each set Price over a
over a period of time.
Objectives
It is a café which sells multi-cuisine food items along with liquor and tobacco products.
It also sells merchandise items.
Some of the patterns which we have considered especially for our insights and
suggestions are:
 Days of peak Sales.
 Duration of peak Sales.
 Combination of products which sell well together.
 Price elasticity, which is not significant between price and Sales Amount. Although,
Although, correlation between Total Sales Amount and Quantity is : 0.99996
Summary
INSIGHTS Higher Sales on weekends in terms of Quantity.
Lowest Sales on Tuesday. We may launch
certain schemes or offers on Tuesday to
increase the Sales.
Focus on marketing on Monday,
Wednesday and Thursday.
BUSINESS VALUE
Peak Sales ( Volume and Value) Noticed On :
3rd April, 2010 : IPL Match Chennai vs. Rajasthan
31st December, 2010 : New Year Eve
14th Feb,2011 : Valentine’s Day

• Focus on western occasions,
sports.

draw huge audience, a price rise
does not impact volumes much.
Business Value:
• Sales increases at night, so do the
selling of comparatively expensive
items.
• At 9pm, we see a dip in sales volume which
means most probably the café has a happy
hours scheme which ends at 9pm.
