Winterville 2014

2. Why have I chosen to do this?
• I have chosen to do events for my news story and the
local event I have chosen is Winterville in Victoria Park.
With Christmas on it's way, it is the perfect distraction
for kids and families and get into the Christmas spirit.
• I have decided to pursue this story because I think
people in Tower Hamlets need to have fun in their own
home and as it is so local and is in the hub of the
borough, the public can go and enjoy themselves at
their own leisure.
• As it is only for a month, not including Christmas Day
and Boxing day, people need to take good use of it.

3. What will I be doing?
• I will be going to interview people there who
are embracing the fun and be asking
questions about what they think of it.
• I'll also be asking if they think we need more
local events like these as well as if they are
enjoying themselves.
• I will be recording from the scene amongst the
lively atmosphere

4. Travel
If I decide to go by car, the
directions to get to Winterville
couldn’t be any easier so I have
no problem getting there.
However parking is an issue as
many of the roads are going to
be blocked off and belong to
resident permit holders only
therefore I am to take a car,
parking will be very hard to
find.

5. I am more likely to use
public transport as a result
of no parking. I have used
TFL to plan my journey
from my house to Victoria
Park.
I will take the D7 bus from
my nearest bus stop to
Mile End Station. Then I’ll
meet up with my friends
and we will take either the
277 or 425 to Victoria Park.

6. Activities there
The places I will
mainly be are the
places highlighted in
yellow.
From previous
research I have
found out that these
are the places where
most people that I
want to interview
will be, and where
the most ‘fun’ is.
