This document is an excerpt from an address given by Pope John Paul II to a group of Italian legionaries in 1982. In it, he: 1) Welcomes the legionaries and expresses his joy at seeing their movement, which has rapidly spread around the world in the past 60 years, continue its important apostolic work. 2) Notes that the Legion of Mary's vocation as lay people to be a "leaven in the People of God" and bring the priest to the people is eminently ecclesial. 3) Encourages the legionaries to accept the Church's call today for all Christians to commit to holiness and share in Christ's salvific mission
