2. My questionnaire
I chose to ask the age and gender of my participants as this
makes a big difference on the importance of the answers on
the questionnaire. This is because different ages and genders
like different things. The target audience for my magazine is
16-25 year olds so I decided that I would get the majority of
participants to be between this age.
I was struggling to decide on a name for my featured artist so I
chose between three and asked in my questionnaire what
other peoples favourite name was. This has helped me decide
on a name.
I asked several questions about what people like to see in a
music magazine so that I could get an idea of what to include
in my magazine to make it successful.
I also asked how often people read music magazines so that I
could get an idea of how often I should release my magazine.
Finally I asked what music they preferred as this impacts the
importance and relevance to my magazine.

The majority of my participants were between the age of 16 and 25, this Is good as this
is the age of my target audience so their results will be particularly relevant.

audience is females, however it
would have been interesting to get a
male to answer the questionnaire.

The majority vote was for René Simons, this was also my
favourite and the votes have helped me decide that I am
going to use this name as according to results will attract
more readers.

All but one of the participants preferred pop music, this makes their results
more relevant to my magazine as I am focusing on the pop genre.

7. Who is your favourite band/artist
and why?
All of my participants had different answers for this question. These consisted of :
• Pink
• Drake
• Baw wow
• Taylor swift
• Justin Bieber
Out of these artist I would be more likely to have pink in my magazine as she Is
perfect for the style I want my magazine to be in. The majority of the reasons was
because of how talented the artists are and their music however some people
also liked them because of their good looks.

8. What do you look forward to most when
reading a music magazine?
This question was for me to find out what people want to get out of my
magazine. There was a range of answers including finding out about new
music and artists, interviews with artists and images. All of these were equally
as popular and are the stereotypical things you would expect to see in a
music magazine.

9. How regularly do you read a music
magazine?
I asked this question to get an indication of how often my magazine should be
released. I got a range of different answers from hardly ever to every now and
then, but the majority said once a month. This has helped me decide on when I will
release my magazine which is going to be monthly.

10. Give a list, 1 being most important and 5 being least
important features in a music magazine.
For this question a had a lot of very different
answers however everyone that took part had
images and latest music or number ones in
somewhere. This shows me that when reading
a music magazine people care more about the
music and seeing the artist rather than gossip
on them not related to music.
