Fostering Friendships - Enhancing Social Bonds in the Classroom
Presentación familia ingles
1. 2011 was a year of opposite flavors for the family because
it is true that God gave us the opportunity to achieve
many successes and receive many blessings, but it is also
true that there were some difficulties on several fronts.
But the most sad and irreparable one was the fact that
our mother and grandmother, Lola, is gone to enjoy God´s
company, leaving a big hole in our home and in our
extended family.
2. Juan Carlos and Mariana, continued their work and
family life in Sao Paulo, with great care for the
development of Santiago and Martin, who thank God has
been growing and developing very well. Santiago
changed school, continues with its mixture of
languages, more awake each day, showing his temper
and his personal conviction about how to do things.
Martin completed its first year, very large and with a
gentle temperament even though he is a blonde-blonde
child. Juan Carlos finished his professional career at
Johnson & Johnson. Mariana continues to work
intensively on their professional activities in J & J. They
attended many visitors in their apartment in Sao
Paulo, who enjoyed all their attentions. They traveled for
work and pleasure to several cities in the U.S. and Brazil.
They will be during the end of the year in Cali, and we
will have the opportunity to share with them a few days
at home.
3. Alejandro, Selma and Gabriel had a very good year.
Alejandro completed his cycle in the Municipal Health
Secretariat, with many achievements for the
communities. Then he presented as candidate to be
President of the University del Valle, but he did not get
the required support, and since October is working as
Executive Director of FES. Selma continued its activities
in the areas of Nutrition and Yoga and several of her
Bosnian and American friends visited her. In the
summer along with Gabriel was able to visit her mother
in Oregon. Gabriel changed his school and in the Luis
Horacio Gomez he has felt pretty good. He remains as a
very clever boy, very friendly, with very good relations
and very active on several activities . They made
several trips in the United States and in Colombia.
Alejandro was invited to Tuxtla Gutierrez in Mexico and
Portland State University in Oregon. The end of the year
brought them a new car , that will facilitate their rural
routes.
4. Rodolfo had in his enterprise a very good year, as their
tennis tournaments: Corona, Gatorade, Bogotá Beer
Company; the coach education programs, and the
Gatorade Cup soccer, worked quite well. The activities
of athletic scholarships and the promotion of Florida
International University also had a good development.
Tennis Foundation of Colombia reaches 53 children
with scholarships and ended the year with an event
with 500 participants. He was at the Miami
tournament, but this time he could not enjoy
Constanza’s company due to the Lola´s Illness. Since
mid-have he has his own car, which will greatly facilitate
his operations. He will be with us throughout the
Christmas and year-end season.
5. Constanza, as always being the helmswoman of all
family activities and providing support to those who
need some help. With Patricia was responsible for the
entire process of careful and loving attention to Lola in
her last days , both in Bogotá and in Cali. Patricia also
shared with her the nursing care for Gladys ´surgery
recuperation. She traveled to Brazil to support Juan
Carlos and Mariana in the care of Santiago and Martin.
She supported Alejandro and Selma in many activities,
especially in the care and guidance of Gabriel, and is the
great "Abue” for Gabriel. She was indebted to Rodolfo,
because she did not have time to go to Bogotá to help in
some things from his apartment. She coordinated all the
improvements that were done to the house and to the
country house,. With Rodrigo traveled to Washington,
Egypt, Brazil, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and
Estonia. In her dressmaking group was fairly active and
participated in the trip to Boyacá.
6. Rodrigo continued his academic activities at the University
Icesi. For academic reasons had to travel to
Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Jamaica, Barbados, Chile and many
Colombian cities. Lola's death coincided with the
development of XXI Latin American Congress on
Entrepreneurship which, situation that was quite difficult
to manage. During his trip to Europe he suffered an
arrhythmic symptom and he had to be hospitalized in
Poland and Estonia, which has forced him to take things
more calmly.
7. Iván graduated from high school and started at
Universidad Icesi his Business Administration program
and in the first semester did well. We are waiting for
Arcenia´s apartment and hopefully she will get it by
Christmas.
We wish you peace and joys in this Christmas season ,
and we ask the Lord for his protection and shelter for the
coming year, that we expect to be full of happiness and
successes, for you and for us .
Juan Carlos, Mariana, Santiago, Martín, Alexander, Selma,
Gabriel Omar, Rodolfo, Iván, Constance and Rodrigo.
