10. CHALLENGES
● Patrons lack of internet for learning outside of the library.
● Patrons don’t have cell phones or laptops to complete job
applications or register for accounts.
● Each person has a different learning style, classroom settings can
be difficult.
● Language and communication barriers in open labs and classes.
● Fear and trust.

Teaching digital skills looks different in every site, our communities are diverse. Our AmeriCorps members teach students with a wide range of skills. For instance I just attended a documentary screening at SPNN where students screened 10 minute documentaries—some of these people had little proficiency, Later I sat down with one of the participants and realized she could barely use Microsoft Word.
