Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
• Throughout our preliminary task we used
various filming techniques and shot types.
Although this was more of an
experimentation we found that some shots
were very successful in demonstrating both
match on action and a more sophisticated
presentation of knowledge and skills. See the
next slide for examples of this.
Below is an example of match on
action which is something that we
kept consistent throughout the
film, however the film quality itself
is poor in comparison to our most
recent film
On the right is an
example of one of
our better shops
from the
preliminary
task, one of the few
more unique shots
that we created.
• One big mistake we made was the technique
of shot reverse shot, as we did this
incorrectly.
• To solve this problem we had a film an
entirely different conversation to illustrate our
knowledge of match on action.
• See the false match on action below.
•
• In the progression between the preliminary
task and our most recent task we have learnt
to revise our filming techniques in order to
make sure that they work. We have improved
our filming techniques in order to improve
film quality and transitions and the general
flow of the film. We have included titles with
research into fonts and texts styles to make
sure they apply to the thriller genre. See the
next slide for examples of this.
• Overall, I learnt that details are crucial in
making a film work well and look sophisticated.
Our initial preliminary task appears to be
rushed, the film quality is poor and the
transitions are not very effective. In our opening
titles the contrast is clear, we have taken time to
see where and which transitions are the most
appropriate, have improved the film quality, have
worked on lighting and have included details that
might initially seem minor but improve the film
to a great extent. As a group we have learnt that
focusing and perfecting the task is key in the
success of the film, even if this takes a long time.
