Although in some ways video games are unhealthy, sould they still be a sport? Why I think this ?
Well... I'll tell you why.
The first reason that games should be a sport is that it's similar to sports. One example is soccer.
How they have championships similar to soccer games have them too. Another example is that in
other sports they have trading players. Ohh what a coincidence gaming tournaments have this too.
The last example is that in soccer you play with people around the world and guess what? Gaming
tournaments have this too. Wow! Now it looks like gaming tournaments is copying soccer.
The next reason that games should be a sport is the way it's being seen ( Not literally) . One way
this is supported is that in the article it states that

Should Video Games be a Sport? Every month about 67 million people play League of Legends
according to the creator of the game, Riot. Of the 67 million, many play the game professionally
and compete in tournaments just like athletes. Even with these numbers, many people do not
consider video games as an official sport. Isn't it about time that videogames are considered to be an
international sport? Video games should be a sport due to the fact that professional gamers have a
training schedule longer and more intense than athletes and that the U.S. government officially
recognizes video gaming as a sport. First of all, gamers undergo a much rigorous training as
compared to other professional athletes. According to Monumentalis, a video game store/news

who played "real sports" and who did not grow up in the technological generation. Everyone's main
argument to dispute Esports not being a sport is how it requires no real physical activity, which is
true. But with this being said, why is a sport like golf even considered a sport? Golf does not require

Introduction
The primary object of sports is, of course, exercise, but sports have a far greater impact on the
wellbeing of many besides physical health. Introducing new opportunities for youth, sports create
unbreakable bonds, build athletes' characters, unite communities, and promote teamwork.
Undoubtedly, sports can positively impact many children of all ages. As children grow older and
become more athletic, parents and athletes may consider specializing in one sport to maximize the
athlete's chance of earning a scholarship for college; furthermore, almost every youth athlete,
myself included, dreams of becoming a professional athlete one day, so they will do anything to
achieve that goal. On the contrary, specializing in one sport may have the opposite effect.
Depriving themselves from diverse environments, specialized athletes are excluded from valuable
lessons that are beneficial for sports and life. Specializing in one sport today is not merely playing
one season of a sport, but specialization is intensely concentrating on one sport year–round. For this
reason, athletes should play multiple sports because focusing on one sport all year does not produce
the same benefits as playing multiple sports throughout the year. Most athletes, including myself,
would probably agree that they love more than one sport, and if this is the case, then athletes should
participate in every sport they love. After all, the purpose of sports is not to earn money or to

Sports and religion are things that can go together in many ways. Sports were founded on
religion and were kept strong by religion. Now sport is taking over as religion almost in today's
world. Sports can promote things that are not necessarily right according to God but we
participate anyway. While how the mind and body are connected give another way of how sport
is. Finally, we see that sports in a modern context have changed greatly and are ritual heavy one
would almost say idolic. Religion and sports are both here to stay and they really are a way
something that can unite everyone. Sports have been around for as long as man can remember.
Sport though was something that had a religious meaning behind it. Sports were used as a way to
express your religion and have a group of people follow you with it. In ancient Greece you had the
olympics and with that meant people would be willing to die for their beliefs as many fights would
break out during sport. In Tertullian's "On Spectacles" he takes a look at sports in his time to see the
the interconnectedness with religious beliefs and rituals. Tertullian noticed that the sports were
idolised. This meant that sports were going against God. Idolatry was something that could have
been a crime in his time but nothing seemed wrong with sports and their idolic ways. Tertullian
states that athletes would wear specific colors honoring the elements of nature, of course though this
was condemned by God. Tertullian points out how many

Do you play games? Maybe you go to the movies. How about listening to music? These are all
things we do for fun and games. What about the Ancient Egyptians? How did they have fun?
From what we have found out, they had lots of fun. They had toys, games, and played pretend.
They listened to musicians. And, they enjoyed sports. Let's see what we can discover. The history
of sport probably extends as far back as the existence of people as purposive sportive and active
beings. Sport has been a useful way for people to increase their mastery of nature and the
environment. Of course, as we go further back in history the dwindling evidence makes the theories
of the origins and purposes of sport difficult to support. Nonetheless, its importance in human history
is undeniable.
Egyptians enjoyed the good life and playing was a part of it, all kings, princes and statesmen were
keen on attending sports competitions, which they encouraged and provided with the necessary
equipment. Children and adults are often depicted involved in games. Typically boys' games were
rougher than those of the girls, but the latter weren't above fighting and hair pulling, like the pair in

from the unprecedented cash prizes, the League of Legends tournament was able to bring in over 8

19. The Relationship Between Play And Game
People tend to think that play and game is considered as similar types of leisure. Gaming is
sometimes expensive and resources are required; there are rules, structures and even involvement
relies on the selected strategy. However playing is free to practice, safe, without any rules of
commitment and no equipment needed. According to some Educational theorist, gaming is
behaviorist, whereas playing is constructivist. But what is the relationship between play and game?
This essay's aim is to clarify the understanding of this relationship, by basing some example on the
angry birds game. At first a definition of play will be discussed, secondly a definition of game will
be analyzed, thirdly the concept of immersion and interactivity will be pointed out and finally the
relationship between play and game will be identify.

The relationship can be considered as being paradoxical but is very obvious. According to Tulloch,
player freedom and game rules are far from the opposite; surely they are all the more gainfully
comprehended as connected components of a similar procedure (Tulloch, 2014). Games incarnate
the actual structure–game connection of other play activities, where play emerges like an open
space of move into more stiff structures. It gives them a special status as games are so formalized.
When creating a game, a set of game rules are forced to be designed as well as game materials that
are an expansion of rules (Wardrip–Fruin, Harrigan and Crumpton, 2006). The relation between
game and play is that, when players set the system of a game into motion, play appears. Play is the
inverse of rules. Rules are stated, inflexible, restricted, and unequivocal. However, play is
improvisational, uncertain, unconfined and inventive. The bizarre association of play and rules is
one of the captivating paradoxes of
