2. Access & Credit
The Health Sciences Library announces
increased access to UpToDate by providing
an entryway through CIS.
Each research inquiry qualifies for AMA
PRA Category 1 Credit™.
AANP, AAFP, AAP, AAPA, ACEP, ACOG,
and AOA also give credit for UpToDate
searches.

3. Sign onto CIS
Go to the
Explorer Menu
on the Patient
Toolbar
Open the
Physician
Reports folder
Double Click on
UpToDate

4. Enter topic to search
Click on Search UpToDate button

5. ONE TIME ONLY!!!
You will be prompted to
complete a brief form with
name, address, phone
and email.
Once you are registered,
UpToDate will begin to
accrue your CME/CE
hours.
After the initial registration,
UpToDate will recognize
you when you log in to
CIS and perform a search
through the Physician
Reports entryway.

6. Accruing Credits
Credit is accrued automatically every time
you research a question.
To see how many credits you have earned,
select CME on the navigation bar on the
UpToDate screen.
You may process your credits online and
print your certificate at any time.

7. Submitting Credits
These credits will not be automatically
submitted to your Baystate Health
transcript.
You will need to submit these credits to
your accreditation body.
Credits are accrued only when you access
UpToDate through CIS. Internet or intranet
research in UpToDate will not count for
CME/CE contact hours.

8. HIPPA Compliance
No patient
information is
transferred or
shared with
UpToDate.

9. Clinician Privacy
UpToDate does NOT share, sell or
distribute registration information.
UpToDate does NOT report individual
usage to Baystate Health.
UpToDate does provide aggregated
information about usage to the Health
Sciences Library for collection management
purposes.

10. Off-Site Access, Too!
This new enhancement allows clinicians to search
UpToDate through CIS wherever they are
working.
