Internal versus External Investigations: When Do You
Hire External Corporate Investigators?
An internal investigation may be successfully executed in situations when there
are primarily low risk indicators and no more than one or two moderate risk
indicators.
It is worth consulting with an expert and reviewing the experience and skills of
your internal investigators, if the majority of your issues are moderate risk, or if
they include one high or severe risk indicator. External investigation is best in
situations where there is a majority of high or severe risk indicators.
