3. How it will affect your balance
If you were to lose the outer part of your ear, your pinna, it will not
affect your balance. Your balance comes from within your inner ear.
The vestibular system helps to control your balance. The vestibular
system is located in the semi-circle canal, which is in your inner ear.
As long as there is no internal damage, you should still have balance
without your pinna. If for some reason something does happen to the
inner part of your ear, you might want to get that fixed. If your inner
ear is damaged, you won’t have very good balance.

I found most of my information on the above website. On this website, I learned many additional parts of the ear aside
from what we learned in class. For instance, the vestibular system is in the semi-circle canal. The website also stated
that the three smallest bones are the malleus, incus, and stapes. We learned that it was the hammer, anvil, and
stirrup. I am curious to know which one is correct.
