4. Originally, Jesus was to start a seven-year
course, from the age of 33, establish a standard
of parenthood (True Parent) according to
Heaven's desire, and then erect the standard
for restoring all things.
He was to have completed everything by the age of 40
and fulfill the Will of Heaven.
This was the mission of Jesus.
However, he was prevented from fulfilling this Will,
and he died on the cross. (Original Sinless seed was lost)
Thus, this Will was left unfulfilled.

5. It is not recorded in history, but even Jesus departed to do
his mission during the seven years from
when he was 27 to when he was 33.
From then to the time when he turned 40 would have been
his second seven-year course, or if Jesus had started from
his 20s, that would be his third seven-year course.

6. By doing this, Jesus was supposed to have prepared a
worldwide foundation by the time he reached 40,
but he died because the nation did not support him.
Thus, that remains in the Bible as the seven-year great
misfortune.

7. God does not impose His will on humankind,

Jesus had all the qualifications of a true parent and
the complete support of God, and yet God did not
force the Israelites to accept him as the messiah.
Because Jesus was rejected, God's will was frustrated

true parents.

as the bridegroom, had to have His bride.
Jesus and his bride, as the ancestors who have nothing

Yet in order for him to stand as the True Father of
humanity on earth, he needed someone in the position
of the True Mother.

13. Jesus completed his mission as a son,

heaven.
The Holy Spirit, as his bride, represents the earth.

He paved the way for defeating Satan,
the representative of all evil spirits.

that is why he must come again

23. In the year 2009, anthropologists across the world
came together to find out which event had had the
greatest influence since the onset of human history
and publicized their finding.
According to their research, of the twenty events
and figures that influenced humankind the most,
the birth and life of Jesus was ranked in first place.

24. Jesus came to earth and lived here for 33 years,
three years of which were devoted to leading a
public life.
During this short period of three years,
he was active in only the small nation of Israel,

(which he spelled "Moon Sun Myung").
In a speech Moon explained that the
hanja for moon, his surname, means
"word" or "literature" in Korean.
The character sun, composed of "fish“
and "lamb" (symbols of Christianity),
means "fresh." The character myung,
composed of "sun" and "moon",
(which was part of his given name),
means "bright." Together, sun-myung
means "make clear."
So the full name can be taken to mean "the word made clear”.
Moon concluded by saying, "My name is prophetic."

53. Sontag: The goal of your church is to unite all churches
and to produce the unified family. Yet in Korea
and now here, you have built up such tension;
you have begun by separating families and
rousing the opposition of churches.
Do you see that as an irony?
How will you move to accomplish your goal?

54. Moon: It truly is an irony.
However, from the spiritual point of view,
a great blessing is coming to those families
because their sons and daughters are working
for this new messianic mission of the
Unification Church.

55. I have never divided families or broken homes.
Actually, in many cases, I have restored families and
united them in happiness.
I have received numerous thank you letters from grateful
parents.
In some other cases, families are trying to blame me
for damage that was done long before.

56. The parent-child relationship is beautiful and full of love.
However, let's say a child tastes an even greater love
than he is experiencing at home with his parents.
Let's say he experiences something far greater than
his ordinary family relationships.
The child then feels he must go to the source of that
greater love in order to be spiritually satisfied.

57. Sontag: The doctrine of True Parents, I think, is much
misunderstood.
I wonder if you would say something about the
relationship between True Parents and one's
natural parents and the kind of obligation
the child has to both.

58. Moon: Parents is the word used to designate a
person's father and mother, those who
gave him life.
Our concept of True Parents refers to
the rebirth of an individual.
The true you is spiritual.
Our real selves are invisible,
yet that is what was corrupted.
Therefore all people are destined to be reborn.

But because God is spirit and invisible, he creates a
central person or persons
through whom mankind can receive
God's teaching and experience rebirth.
These are the True Parents.
This concept of TrueParents
does not disregard the natural parent at all.

has been the reorganization of the human family.
The human family stems from fallen Adam and Eve,
and God cannot accept the family as it is.

Your natural parents
give you physical life and love you, and raise you
with the best moral principles they can.

63. Adam and Eve were supposed to be
the True Parents of mankind in God's plan.
When they failed, God intended Jesus to be the

When he was crucified on the cross,
God promised another messiah.

restoring the family unit under God's ideal.
When we have True Parents of God,
we can all become true brothers and sisters.

65. Sontag: Then after the spiritual rebirth, what becomes
of the relation and obligation of the child to his
natural parents?

66. Moon: His natural parents certainly remain his parents,
and their family relationship will never change.
After spiritual rebirth, however, one is related
to the true family of God, and is responsible to
restore his own natural parents, brothers, and
sisters, and relatives to God's family, too.

67. This makes an eternal relationship with God
possible for those you love most.
The true family's relationship is eternal,
whereas an earthly family's is only temporal.

68. Therefore, one needs to make both relationships
possible within ones natural family, thereby
bringing complete restoration to ones family.
Mankind's ultimate fulfilment here on earth is to
become true sons and daughters of God.

69. Sontag: How do you see your own role in relation
to the role of Jesus?

70. Moon: One of my most important revelations is that
Jesus Christ did not come to die.
He came to this world to consummate his
messianic mission given by God,
which is the establishment of the Kingdom of God
here on earth.
Through his crucifixion, however, Jesus gave himself
as a sacrifice for the faithlessness of the world,
and by his resurrection, he established spiritual
salvation. This is the teaching of the Divine Principle.

71. Moon: Complete salvation, which is physical as well
as spiritual, was the ultimate purpose and intended
goal of God for mankind at the time of Jesus.
That mission was not totally accomplished.
We must realize, however, that this was not
because of any fault on the part of Jesus Christ.

72. Moon: Rather it was because of the rejection by the people.
This point is greatly misunderstood today.
The Second Coming was predicted because
the mission was not totally accomplished in the first.
Therefore, a messianic crusade is destined to begin
here on earth in order to consummate the will of God.
The work of the Unification Church and my mission
is to proclaim the coming of the Messianic Age.

73. Sontag: What problems do you see for the church
and this work when you are no longer alive
to lead it?
How will the members respond to your absence?

74. Moon: I have consummated my personal mission here
on earth.
Therefore, whether I remain here on earth or
whether I am taken to the spirit world doesn't
make any difference.
Our movement has laid a firm foundation.
It exists here in the human level, but it is spiritually
established; its root is God and the spirit world.

75. Moon: On this foundation the movement will never fail.
It will go on without me and
the Kingdom of God
shall become a reality here on earth.

composed of all believers in Jesus Christ. The
"groom" is none other than Jesus Himself.
This kind of idea seems okay for women, but tends to
make us men a little nervous. I find it difficult to consider
myself as a bride. However, the "marriage" to the lamb
(Jesus Christ) is obviously a symbol of the unity of
believers with Jesus Christ in heaven (Revelation 19:1).

As a Messiah, to accomplish resurrection is an extremely
meaningful accomplishment.
We were created by God but then,
because of the Fall, we fell away from God.
So for us, returning back to God's direct dominion
that is resurrection.

106. Jesus came in order to recreate mankind back into the
state of being in God's direct dominion.
But Jesus was not able to accomplish that completely
because he went the way of the cross.
He did manage to accomplish the spiritual resurrection
but the physical body remained in the realm of Satan.
So Jesus died once, was resurrected once, spiritually.
And forty days after, he reappeared to mankind and was
able to establish a very huge Christian church foundation
based on that one resurrection.

107. True Parents have faced death seven times
and been resurrected seven times, not only spiritually,
but spiritually and physically.
This means that True Parents have an extremely huge gift
to give to mankind because of the victory of those
resurrections.
That's the grace of the seven deaths and resurrections.

eight stages of horizontal [resurrection].
We have to accomplish victories at the individual, family,
tribal, race, nation, world, cosmic levels.

at Gyeonggi do.
Father was imprisoned in October 1944.
He was imprisoned for about 4 months
until February 1945.
2. The second death and resurrection was at the
Jeongju police station in North Korea. He was

the internal security forces in 1946.

111. If we compare Jesus' resurrection and Father's resurrection,
True Parents were substantially resurrected.
Jesus shed blood on the cross.
True Parents were resurrected without shedding blood.
Jesus died alone and had to go and re-gather his disciples
when he was in spiritual form.
True Parents were not alone.
They had their followers with them in the helicopter and
their followers saved them.
Jesus had to witness to himself as the Messiah after his
resurrection.
But there were many, many people to witness to True Parents
as the Messiah. They did not have to do it themselves.

112. Imagine now, True Parents have been resurrected seven times,
physically and spiritually.
So at this time, we need to believe in True Parents and
lead a clean and holy life.
We need to become one with True Parents.
We need to live for others.
We have to throw away all our old habits and become a
model family following True Parents.
We are the people who should be following those eight stages
of resurrection.

True Parents are one and only eternal Divine position
of Sun Myung Moon and his wife Hak Ja Han Moon.
It can never be replaced by any of the True Children,
Grandchildren…Great Grandchildren…
I am full of respect for the blood lineage between True Parents
and True Children, and what good they have done/are doing
for True Parents.
