• Methylated spirit (in dropper bottle)

Part A
Use a spatula to pick up a small
amount of salt (about the size
of rice grain).
Place this salt in a test tube and
label the test tube as salt.
Use wash bottle to half fill the
test tube.
Stir the mixture by tapping the
test tube.
Observe if the substance is
highly soluble, slightly soluble
or not soluble.
Record your observation in the
result table.
7. Repeat steps 1 – 6 for other
substances.
Part B
1. Repeat Part A using methylated
spirits instead of water.
Take a picture of your results to
upload it to report.

• Take a picture of the results of solubility test with water and
methylated spirit.
