Presented at MacEwan University's Faculty PD Day on August 28, 2013. Abstract: Boring PowerPoint presentations are everywhere in academia. We’ve all blankly sat through them, and despite our best intentions to engage both students and colleagues, we have likely presented a few of our own. Drawing on approaches to “Presentation Zen” applied in classroom and conference settings, this session will empower participants to embrace simple techniques in creating engaging visual aids that can help facilitate learning through recognition of the brain’s capacity for visual recall.
