1. Smithville HS Technology Action Plan
Goal
To ensure that SHS is in compliance with and progressing towards technological
advancement standards that are stated on the STaR Chart and the Texas Long Range
Technology Plan (TLRTP).
Provide staff development in all facets of technology using time efficient strategies and
innovative approaches
Provide Hardware and Software to optimize instruction in all classrooms
Mount all in-focus machines in each classroom at SHS
Purchase free-response systems for five classrooms
Timeline
Training will happen as scheduled during the 2010-2011 school year.
Hardware and software will be purchased when funds are available.
All in-focus machines were mounted by the start of the second six weeks this year.
The free response systems have not been purchased due to the funds not being there.
Funding
All will be purchased from local district funds.
2. Organizational Chart and responsibilities:
• Will oversee the implementation of the TLRTP and the CIP.
• Will oversee professional development strategies for faculty to
ensure that it adheres to local state and federal policy as it
pertains to technology.
• Will evaluate the progress of technological goals via, PDAS,
observations, surveys, students performance records, STaR Chart,
PRINCIPAL AEIS, and TEKS.
• Will be responsible for all reports and updates to the
Suprintendent , Shool Board and his or her campus.
• Will schedule and oversee proper professional development with
technology based on directives from the Principal and data
gathered and analyzed from the STaR Chart, AEIS, CIP ,
observations and surveys.
• Will monitor the progress and use of technology in the classroom
.
TECHNOLOGY • Will train faculty to lead and mentor other faculty on the
implementation and maintenance of new technology.
DIRECTOR • Will verify technological progress towards the CIP, STaR Chart,
AEIS goals ,the TLRTP, and will report data to the Principal .
•Will follow local, state and federal standards and procedures as they pertain to
technology, its implementation and use in the classroom to improve student
performance.
•Teachers partake in quality professional development in technology that is provided by
the district and directed by local, state and federal policy.
•Will be provided the opportunity to share ideologies, strategies and techniques with the
use of technology in their local PLC's (Professional Learning Communities).
•Will adhere to TEKS and progress in the use of technology to meet the goals of the
TLRTP, and CIP while improving on areas as defined by the AEIS and SBDMC reports.
FACULTY •Teachers will be subject to an evaluation process that includes PDAS, observations,
surveys, and evaluations of student performance.
•Teachers will provide data and feedback as to the progress , development and
implementation of professional development sessions.
