COMMITTEE: Environment QUESTION OF: Desertification and deforestation Submitted by: Russian Federation Co-Submitted by: THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY Deeply concerned, sandstorms of desertification make up more than 16 percent of the country. Sandstorms can cause serious illnesses, eyes and respiratory system and the number of patients definitely increased a lot. Desert storm also effects to nation’s daily lives. Storm affected power supplies in cities. It affected agriculture of cities. Lots of animals died, desert and winds destroyed crops in the farm so nations cannot earn money. But the big problem is nations cannot figure out the solutions to protect by sandstorms. Sandstorms have caused chaos on the roads and in the air. Recognizing sand storm by desertification is harmful to people’s health, environment and industries. Deeply concerned by terrible phenomenon of deforestation. Deploring world’s forest destroyed. About half of the world’s forest destroyed and cause desertification. ,[object Object]

Recommends, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa.
