Handovers between nurses are important to ensure continuity and safety of patient care. However, interruptions during these handovers can negatively impact the transfer of important patient information. This paper will examine strategies to minimize interruptions during nurse shift change handovers, such as establishing specific handover locations away from distractions, and using communication techniques like asking others to avoid interrupting except in emergencies.
