The First Bridge Across Bayou Plaquemine for Public Use Connected Plaquemine with Turnerville (completed June 1898)
Plaquemine’s Second Public Bridge Across Bayou Plaquemine Completed in 1908  - It replaced the first bridge that was destroyed by fire in July of 1905.
The third and last bridge over Bayou Plaquemine was completed in 1950. The top part of the bridge was eventually removed. Click to Enlarge Pictures (Do not click in automatic play mode)
This picture was taken on May 26, 1950 when the new bridge was completed and before the old car bridge was dismantled.

Carrie B. Schwing
The Carrie B. Schwing was the largest boat that was ever built in Plaquemine. It was one hundred and twenty five feet long and twenty one feet wide. It was launched on March 22, 1904.
The second Carrie B. Schwing was built after the first Carrie B. Schwing burned and sank in Bayou Natchez on February 28, 1912. It was used as a towing boat as well as a pleasure boat.

Charles Spedale Ferry Boat, the “Amelia”, was used to cross the Mississippi River in 1934.
