Fundraising Outlook WRITTEN FUNDRAISING PLAN Will you meet or exceed the fundraising plan for 2023? ● Meet plan: 74% confident ● Exceed plan: 55.7% confident Mildly optimistic about external fundraising climate over next 12 months More optimistic about positive internal change taking place over next 12 months Fundraisers signal a need for strategic planning in fundraising. “Insufficient funds to create and implement a fundraising plan.” “Fundraising is the #1 most important goal for the strategic plan”

PLANNED INCREASES IN THE FOLLOWING TACTICS FOR 2023 ● Planned giving fundraising (excluding outright bequests) (+26%) ● Legacy/bequest fundraising (+22%) ● Major gift fundraising (+20%) ● Corporate fundraising (+16%) ● Direct mail (new donor acquisition) (+11%) ● Peer-to-peer fundraising (+11%) DONOR POPULATION IS AGING Yet, fewer than ¼ of nonprofits were engaged in legacy fundraising for outright bequests “Deaths of aging donors who will not be replaced by younger donors” Fundraising Mix “Two new direct mail appeals and the appeals were focused on specific projects rather than general support. Both did well.”
