2. Recently, the Semper Fi Fund launched a
campaign to raise $10 million to aid injured
veterans in need of assistance. To help the
organization achieve its goal within its desired
timeframe, GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons
recently doubled his commitment by stating
that he would match donations up to $5
million. Last year, Mr. Parsons matched
donations up to $2.5 million. A U.S. Marine
Corps Vietnam veteran and recipient of the
Purple Heart, he understands firsthand the
importance of assisting veterans.
3. The current matching program stands as one
of the largest in the history of veteran charity
initiatives. Mr. Parsons hopes that his
commitment will rally the community and
increase awareness of the need to support
veterans who risked everything for the country
and must now live with wounds, injuries, and/or
critical illnesses. The current campaign
celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Semper
Fi Fund, which has provided assistance to
13,000 veterans in the past decade through
immediate financial assistance and lifetime
support.
4. Until the end of the year, GoDaddy
customers will also have the opportunity
to “Round Up for Charity” when they
purchase products and further benefit
the Semper Fi Fund, in addition to other
worthy causes.
