I have here a poem here entitled “I’ am a
Child” I want you to listen as I read the poem
then after you will read it again.
“I’ am a Child”
I am a child, who feels so glad
I have two eyes to see everything around me.
I have two ears to hear sounds both far and near.
I have a nose to smell odors I can tell.
I have a tongue to tell me if food is sweet and salty.
And I have my hands to feel hot and warm, cold and
chill.

 Organ derives from the Latin word organum,
meaning instrument
 The kind of action or activity proper
 A specialized organ or structure, such as the eye,
ear, tongue, nose, or skin, where sensory neurons
are concentrated and that functions as a receptor.
Okay from the poem we read do have any idea
what are the five senses?
Ok so what are the five senses you may raised
your hands.

So lets proceed,

 It helps us describe colors sizes
and shaes of the object

 It helps us hear different kinds of

 It helps us feel pain and pressure
caused by objects. It also hels us feel
the texture and temperature of objects.

together as she reads aloud.

Before we start, what are the rules to follow in
group activity? Everybody listen as I read the
instructions.
1. Listen attentively to your leader as she/he
the instruction
2. Be careful in using and handling materials.
3. Follow the time allotment for the activity.
4. Be cooperative in a group work.
5. Enjoy and doing one’s work.
6. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of
the room.
7. Returned the materials used properly

Group 1.
Objective: Identify the shapes, size, and color
of the objects.
Materials: Cut out objects ball, ruler, block of
wood, ice cream cone and egg.
Instructions:
1. Name the objects.
2. Tell the colors and shape of the different
objects.
3. Discuss it in front.

2. Discuss it in front of the class.

Why is it important?

1. Hold the materials.
2. Check corresponding column if it is
smooth, rough, soft, hard hot and cold
3. Discuss the answer in front of the class.
4. Classify the different kinds of textures
and write it down on the char

3. What are the two kinds of smell? Write it
down on the chart.

3. Discuss in the class what the taste of each
food is.
4. Write down the taste of the food on the
corresponding table.

Why is it important?
The nose, sense of smelling.
It helps us smell different things.
The sense of taste, tongue.
It helps us to know the taste of the food, and work
with our teeth in chewing our foods, and helps us
what we want to say.

Motivation I have here a poem here entitled “I’ am a Child” I want you to listen as I read the poem then after you will read it again. “I’ am a Child” I am a child, who feels so glad I have two eyes to see everything around me. I have two ears to hear sounds both far and near. I have a nose to smell odors I can tell. I have a tongue to tell me if food is sweet and salty. And I have my hands to feel hot and warm, cold and chill. Comprehension Questions : 1.What makes the child see everything around him? 2.What makes the child hear sounds far and near? 3.What makes him smell odor? 4.What makes him tell that foods are sweet or salty? 5.What makes him feel hot or cold? 5. Eyes Ears Nose Tongue Hands or Skin  Organ derives from the Latin word organum, meaning instrument  The kind of action or activity proper  A specialized organ or structure, such as the eye, ear, tongue, nose, or skin, where sensory neurons are concentrated and that functions as a receptor.
  • 3. Okay from the poem we read do have any idea what are the five senses? Ok so what are the five senses you may raised your hands. Okay Ruth what are the five senses? Okay very good . So lets proceed, Eyes  Sense of Sight/ Seeing  It helps us describe colors sizes and shaes of the object Ears  Sense of Hearing  It helps us hear different kinds of sounds Nose  Sense of Smell  It helps us smell different object around us Tongue  Sense of Taste  It helps us in tasting food we eat Skin  Sense of Touch  It helps us feel pain and pressure caused by objects. It also hels us feel the texture and temperature of objects. C.Activity Everybody read the instructions. What sense organ is used in each of the following: 1. Beautiful dress 2. Delicious food 3. Yes Janine Okay very good so she uses her eyes to see what she is reading, she uses her ears to know if her voice is loud enough to to be heard by others. So her eyes, ears and tongue works together as she reads aloud. Okay lets have another picture. (Show a picture of a girl eating while listening a music ). What sense organ work together as she eats while listening a music? She uses her eyes, ears and tongue Her Eyes to see the foods she eats. Her tongue works together with her mouth and teeth as she eats. Her Hands holding the spoon and fork. Her nose to smell the foods she eats. Her ears to hear the music while she was eating.
  • 5. D. Application We’re going to have group activity. This would be Group 1, 2,3,4 and 5 Again, How many groups do we have? Before we start, what are the rules to follow in group activity? Everybody listen as I read the instructions. 1. Listen attentively to your leader as she/he the instruction 2. Be careful in using and handling materials. 3. Follow the time allotment for the activity. 4. Be cooperative in a group work. 5. Enjoy and doing one’s work. 6. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the room. 7. Returned the materials used properly Can I have 1 representative in each group? Group 1. Objective: Identify the shapes, size, and color of the objects. Materials: Cut out objects ball, ruler, block of wood, ice cream cone and egg. Instructions: 1. Name the objects. 2. Tell the colors and shape of the different objects. 3. Materials: Cut out pictures of an ambulance, a bird chirping, a lullaby, a crackling thunder Instructions: 1. Name the sounds produced by each pictures? 2. Discuss it in front of the class. Conclusion: What sense organ did you use? Why is it important? SOUND SOFT LOUD An ambulance A bird chirping A lullaby Crackling thunder The eyes. Sense of sight. It helps us to name the object and describe the color and size, The ears. Sense of hearing. It helps us to hear different sounds.
  • 7. Group 3. Objectives: Describe the texture of the objects. Materials: cotton, fire, rock, marble, ice water, ball, teddy bear. Instructions: 1. Hold the materials. 2. Check corresponding column if it is smooth, rough, soft, hard hot and cold 3. Discuss the answer in front of the class. 4. Why is it important? Group 4. Objectives: Identify the kinds of smell. Materials: soap, vinegar, water The Skin. Sense of touch. It helps us to find out many things about the object when we touch.
  • 8. Instructions. 1. Smell the following materials. 2. Describe the smell of each. 3. What are the two kinds of smell? Write it down on the chart. Objective: Describe the different types of taste. Materials: candy, lemon, coffee powder, salt Instructions: 1. Name the foods given. 2. Classify them according to taste. 3. Discuss in the class what the taste of each food is. 4. Write down the taste of the food on the corresponding table. Sweet Sour Salt Bitter Conclusion: What sense organ did you used? Why is it important? The nose, sense of smelling. It helps us smell different things. The sense of taste, tongue. It helps us to know the taste of the food, and work with our teeth in chewing our foods, and helps us what we want to say.
