Although this kitchen is large and
open, the warm wood floors and the
glow of the ambient lighting give it a
                                      very comfortable feeling. There is
                                      abundant task lighting provided by
                                      narrow spot lights placed throughout
the kitchen. My favorite feature is the
cove lighting. It not only provides a
beautiful glow, but it also helps define
the dinning area along with the large
                                      chandelier.

In this study lighting is used not only for
the practical purpose of seeing what
your reading but also for setting a calm,
                                      relaxing mood. Recessed lights are
used to provide soft ambient lighting,
while small flood lights provide plenty
of light to find just the right book.
The accent lighting gives emphasis to
the pattern on the fireplace making it
the focal point along with the warm
natural glow of the cozy fire.
