3. Moscow Regional State University was fouded in 1931 as
Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute
First campus of the Institute was located in former Institute
for Noble Maidens established in the early 19th century
4. Now Moscow Regional State University is one of the
largest institutes of higher education in the Moscow Region.
University has at its disposal 5 campuses.
The University structure is represented by
16 faculties and 4 institutes divided into 82 departments.
5. More than 11500 undergraduates and about
420 postgraduates study at the university.
Students get their degrees in 25 fields.
University library has about 900,000 units of issue.
7. The University provides good conditions for
the projects as well.
Every year about 100 specialists
do the refresher courses here
8. For a long time well-known scientists lectured and did research in MRSU
9. As of April 11, 2008 the University has 194 professors and
378 senior lecturers in the University teaching staff. 70 %
of lecturers have advanced degrees and academic status.
Highly qualified employees ready to face the
challenging task of training skilled professionals
in many spheres and do scientific-research work.
Among them there are 16 Honoured Scientists of the
Russian Federation, 5 Academicians and 5 Correspon-
ding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 8
Laureates of the State Prizes of the USSR and Russia.
12. Moscow Regional State University takes part
in many different educational projects.
Particularly during 2007-2008 MRSU
participated in the following projects:
• Regional special-purpose programme “Education development in Moscow
region for 2006-2010”.
• “Development of the function model of regional methodological and practical
center for psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation and children's disability
prevention”.
• “Development of the models of integrated institutions for vocational technical
training with educational syllabuses of different levels”.
• “Improvement of the educational activities and management principles for the
education in vocational technical training institutions”.
• “Using of information technologies in training of teachers for work in virtual
education networking”.
• “Development of regional models for work with gifted children in regional
institutions of education”.
• “Rendering of service on the implementation of the model of the schools system
of methodological centers for the informatization of general education”.
• “Monitoring and sociological analysis of the Moscow government and executive
authority activity on the migratory movement control”.
• “Social adaptation of orphan children and children without parent’s care in
institutions of education”.
13. Institute of Open Education
Activity: Use of modern technologies for professional development of teachers
and administration
14. One of priority directions for the Institute of
Open Education is investigation of every aspect
of distant learning.
15. Institute of Open Education created the System of methodological centers
of Moscow region for informatization of general education
