EOS in Germany builds a new core system to master their debt recovery processes. With the help of CMMN, DMN, BPMN, the knowledge workers for debt recovery are supported within the collection process. About I worked several years in requirements engineering as well as software development. I am passionate to master both sides of the software development process, business requirements and code development. The focus is on receivables management.
Currently EOS is developing a new core system for Inkasso named FX – „Best
Next Inkasso“.
The following journey will give insights on the business and the vision of the new
core system.

Challenges we faced so far (1)
Constraints/sentries with reference to actual point in time
Example:
Try to call debtor with result: unsuccessful
Business Rule: Do not call within the next 4 hours after unsuccesful call
Challenge: Sentries need to be updated dependant on the point in time
Current solution: Update Sentries explicitely

Challenges we faced so far (2)
Navigation within the Camunda Cockpit:
- no direct visibility of the case tasks state
- unconvinient way of finding the right process instance and DMN instance from
within the cases in the Camunda Cockpit
Migration API for cases not available -> no migration of case instances
Lack of event processing within the case -> for our use case, this would simplify
our lives
Ratio of Flow Nodes vs. Decision Elements: 1 : 70
(considering the use case, a ratio like that was expected)

Summary
CMMN 1.1 is a start and a very young specification which needs improvement by
usage and implementation
Camunda functionality supports us bringing together BPMN, DMN, CMMN
DMN is helpful within the case, links within Camunda Interface can be improved
BPMN is a real benefit, especially user task management.
