4. What is Facebook?
Facebook is a social network for connecting people with those
around them – friends, family, coworkers, or simply others with
similar interests.
Facebook started in 2004 as a closed community for college
students (requiring users to sign up with a valid university email
address) but has since expanded beyond that to schools,
corporations, and any user across the world.
Facebook allows users to connect and share
information in a variety of ways.

• The most popular social networking
tool for marketing is Facebook – being
used by 92%, followed by Twitter
(84%), LinkedIn (71%) and blogs (68%)
• 53% of small businesses are
using social media
• 88% believe exposure is the biggest benefit
• 60% are willing to post about products/services in FB if they
get a deal or discount
• LinkedIn is 4X better for B2B lead generation than Facebook
and Twitter

9. Should I have a Business Facebook
page?
• Who is your target audience?
-Depends on target audience, eg Are they using Facebook, and if so how often
are they on Facebook?
• What do you want to achieve from having a facebook page?
-is it for new or existing clients? What are the benefits for liking your page?
• Consistency is essential to keep people engaged!
• Disadvantages:
It can be very time consuming and take a long time to convert these leads into
customers or clients.

your page if haven’t already
• And can offer discounts etc (to
do this make sure your account

15. Setup - Timeline Old Format
Timeline – the new format of the page
You can have a couple of different photos for
your timeline but need to be of exact
measurements
Research has shown the Timeline picture is
viewed first and photos including people are Timeline:
more engaging.
There are certain rules and regulations for what
you can add into your pictures.

• What do I post- what probs are your target market facing, what could
they learn from you? Post articles, tips, information, photos
How often should I post?
Some research says every day,
depends on what you posting
and if you are providing value!
Think about it from a customer perspective - do you go back and scan
old posts or just look at the most recent ones? There is so many new
updates your information can get lost
• Find out when people are on Facebook and time your posts for then.

• Yes you can delete comments and also ban users
• You can choose to review all comments before they
