Inspired by the beautiful book “Natural
Fashion, Tribal Decoration from Africa,” by
Hans Silvester. I created an in-class activity
where students were asked students to bring
their styling kits, flowers, leaves and a
statement piece of jewelry; a necklace, pair of
earrings, bracelet, or brooch. They were put
into random groups of three and worked
collaboratively to create magic through styling
and prop making. The gorgeous photographs
that follow were shot by photographer Justin
Schlesinger from the CCSF Photography
Department.
