The document describes a study that examined the effects of a Book Buddies program on students' attitudes about reading. In the program, older 2nd grade students read books to younger kindergarten and 1st grade students in 20 minute sessions over 3 weeks. Students completed a reading attitude survey before and after. The study found no significant differences in reading attitude scores before and after across all students, between younger and older students, or between individual grade levels. The Book Buddies program did not appear to negatively impact reading attitudes.
